Default A TD04L-13G powered RS joins the turbo ranks...

Interestingly enough, preliminary findings show ~3.5psi of boost running on the stock wastegate. Boost response is snappy and steady enough that I don't think there a boost leak is responsible for this... If I manage to track anything down or this changes, I'll make sure and let you guys know, but what this does mean is that you apparently don't have to worry about getting too much boost off this turbo (and being forced to go with an external wastegate to drop it back down)

Anyway, I'm thrilled that the car runs as well as it does at the above mentioned boost levels, totally stock fuel system and a new J&S unit (with MAP retard). I don't know that I'd recommend this turbo for a huge-power kit, but FWIW it apparently does make a good little entry-level offering!

Congrats on your turbo project. Glad to see people trying non-traditional turbos and especially the mitsu turbos.. You can get a lot out of them, especially if you get a TD05 H from an early 90's WRX as it is basically a small 16G.

I've got the makings of a faster car. I just wanted to see what the baseline sub-2000 dollar kit would run like.

Right now it's running the stock fuel system with a Ver. II J&S Safeguard. I've got an AFC, EBC, injectors and a fuel pump on hand whenever I decide to go faster.

Nice

It's about time too, you've had those pipes for quite some time now. Interesting find on not using the external wastegate. I think I'll try that myself once I switch out the turbo and see if it's the same for me.
