Default New to SLC

Howdy everyone. Just moved to SLC from DC about a month ago and thought I'd say hi. I'm in a Cobb stage 2 2006 WRX wagon with rota grids, whiteline sways and endlinks, and a few other cosmetic mods. Hope to meet you all soon.

Oh yeah, I also have a know-it-all roommate who thinks he knows everything about Subarus despite not having spent the hundreds of hours on the forums that I have. A few questions:

1. Does SLC have auto-x races (of the laid-back variety) or is it really ALL rally?
2. Running Cobb AP and turboback as I am, should I just go throw an intake in there willy-nilly because of the altitude, or, like anywhere else, do I wait to go bigger turbo and pro tune before messing with air intake (which, as I've read on here countless times, without a protune will destroy your engine faster than a pb&j in the oil reserve).
Cheers!

We have miller motorsports park. Way more fun the autox. No need for a intake in my opinion.

check out Miller's website and go to the WOW events cheap and fun! plus you get on a great track.

Welcome! where abouts in the valley are you?

and you don't 'need' an intake, but I would put that on your list towards the top. and there are a few tuners in the area that are great as well.

it's been awhile since I've had the AP but I thought the stage 2 was built using a turbo back and intake?

^^

Stage 2 is just a TBE, but Cobb does now have some OTS maps that incorporate an intake.

Have a K&N drop in filter. I'm in Cottonwood Heights. Thanks for the advice. I was looking for something a little less serious than SCCA, but it will probably have to do.

Is Cobb still in SLC? The website makes it look like they've moved.

Meh.. there are several places that can help you out.

Solid Autoworks for repairs, diagnosis, and upgrading.

Ziptie dyno works for well... that's a bit obvious.

Dan, and RJ for you local man on man love shows.

The Cleverly Bros. for just about anything else you need.

Ps. You can haggle with Dan and Rj.

Wide Open Wed were mentioned and are laid back fun events, there is also the wintercross which is done now but is a great time.

If you want to hit the track there a bunch of options but it does cost more.
