Default position driver seat higher and further back

I'm a left below knee amputee and find the seat height and/or slide aren't quite comfortable for long distances. I probably need to go up ~1" and back 2-3". Has anyone tried anything similar? I did this on a Vibe with mounts made from 2" angle. The Impreza is more complicated; do-able but if anyone has some ideas that might be easier, I'd appreciate it.

Do you have access to a welder? If so, you can make short work of this with some angle or box tube. The box tube would give you the best end result but installing the bolts could potantially be very difficult.
