Cool Fort Rollins Scubie Crew

Anybody know a bunch of nice, curvey dirt roads in FC? I try to look all the time but I only find those straight residential dirt roads up near laporte and straight senic routes out east of I25. BTW are there a lot of FC people in this forum? If so we should set up some races or rallies or whatever, just something.

dirt? nope, don't know any of those, but horsetooth makes for a lot of fun on paved roads when there isn't alot of traffic. There's a decent amount of us in Ft. Fun but alot of people don't post regularly.

Does any of the FC crew go to the test and tune nights at Bandimere Speedway, or do anything together?

drag racing? nah... but I'm sure theres a few that would let you tag along to an Auto-X or two..

if youre lookin for dirt roads try the mountains, up the poudre..

my favorite? head west on highway 34 (loveland)
until you see a sign for masonville.. go to mason ville (dont blink)
hang a left at the "T" have a ball... (the road splits later on, go left again...)

thats all I gotz...

and yes we need another mini-meet.. "not it" on organizing..

I'm not really down for drag either. I was just wondering where to find other Scuby enthuseists in FC. I kinda just want a few baseline numbers before I start dropping cash on mods. I'd love to tag along w/ some of you FC Racers to AutoX events and maybe some Rally X too. Do any of you post where and when you go to meets? Is there anything organized or do you just go by the seat of your pants? Thanks for the help

M,
For auto-X info, www.rmsolo.org - its the local SCCA site. Next one is a week from tomorrow, at a lot north of Coors Field in Denver- directions on the website. You have to register in advance on the website. Only 3 left this season (out of 13).
Come join us!

My favorite place to play on dirt is the Snowy Range, just up the road in WY- go up to Laramie, take 130 west out of Laramie. A couple of miles past Centenial is a Forest Service visitors center. Get a map there; hundreds of miles of dirt, in beautiful country, with VERY little traffic. The Masonville road is fun, but there are enough residences that you've got to be very careful.

There is more Ft. Collins people than you can shake a stick at! And they are pretty hard core, second only to the Aurora crew.

Default Fort Collins Subaru Enthusiast

Merdock777, I am also looking for fellow suby fans in Fort Collins, so if you ever wanted to go to an auto-x sometime, or just BS about suby stuff, let me know. Anyway, as far as good driving roads go, Harmony towards Horsetooth Resovoir is probably the best that I know of, but weekends are bad (tourists and other idiots cause traffic jams), so stick to the weekdays. Also, I have a lot of stuff done to my STi, so I can give you the low-down on parts and upgrades. I got a friend in Boulder that I can refer you to that does great work, has an awd dyno, and is just a really cool guy. Anyway, see you on the road.

Take the road up to Estes Park.. it's kinda long in the beginning.. but it's well worth it. It's all asphalt, sorry no dirt on this route.. it's canyon carving.. you can also go the roads up to and around Nederland.. west of Boulder. Good time to be had!
IF you really want some fun, head to Steamboat and ask abou the rally...

Default Fort Collins Suby gathering

I live in Fort Collins and am a huge Subaru fan, and I know that there are others like me in this city. We should definitely organize a Subaru gathering somewhere and meet each other, swap tuning tips and ideas, whatever. We could all drive up to pueblo raceway and all chip in to reserve the track for a half-day or something. Just an idea, but how cool would it be if there were like 30 Subarus heading down the highway in a tight pack. That would draw some attention for sure. Anyway, let me know.

There are a couple gravel roads that might be fun up on the north side of town. Just get onto Highway 1 , from north college, then take a right on Douglas or at that gravel road about two miles south. It is mostly residential at first but you can get away from that if you just explore around. I dont know if thats what you are looking for but it's worth a try. Hope you find a good road . Just realized how old this thread is. Wow.

Last meet/drive I went to was a blast. Combined with other clubs and ended up with about 40 cars, maybe 10 to 20 Scoobs or Evos. Nice drive from Broomfied down 93 up Coal Creek Canyon to Ned and back through Left Hand Canyon. It was a blast. Pretty sure a lot of posters there are from FC. Check it out.
