Default Stock mid pipe exhaust tubing on 2.5l legacy?

Im curious what size tubing is used on the stock 2.5l legacy from the cat to the can.

My intention is that if its the right size I can use it in combination with som other parts I have to create an exhaust. It would be very convinient to grab a used section of pipe and use it for cutting and such.

something like ~1.7 or 1.8" ID, just a smidge under 2" OD if I remember correctly, the pipes are all the same length from 90-99, the entry flange is slightly smaller on 95-99 though. I can go take a look if you need a precise measurement.

luckily I still have the gasket from the 2001 rs exhaust I was borrowing so I can measure that. I do know that the headers were the same size pipe diameter.

Not doing to much custom exhaust work myself yet, would any random muffler shop have the right flanges to connect to the subaru exhaust parts?

OH btw, it looks that the best headers available right now are those from http://www.techworkseng.com/

Read the page for more info.
