Left mine at the dealer today. Had the same thing as schweezly, with the random on and off but on the passenger side.

3. driver side

called dealer and they said to bring it in.. they tapped on it and it started working because they saw the issue many times..

they need to change the whole damn headlight since SOA doesn't sell just the harness- which scares me for the other side once its out of warranty!

seems like the mornings are ok, then later in the day it starts to blink fast.

2011 drivers side fast blink. The tech at Subaru who fixed it said the buld had corrosion around the socket, he replaced the bulb, cleaned the socket and put some kind of lube, "di-'letric" or something. He said he could not determine the cause of the corrosion.

3. Passenger Side

I took my car in for its 6K oil change on Saturday and on my way home from the dealership my passenger side turn signal starting blinking more rapidly than usual. I left the turn signal on and pulled over and found it was the rear passenger turn signal bulb that was flashing quickly. I called the dealer and they asked me to bring it in but in the 20 or so mile drive back to the dealer the problem ceased. I still went to the dealer and took a drive with the mechanic and he took a look at both passenger bulbs and said that it could have been a loose bulb or loose filament. He reseated the bulbs and its seems like everything is working properly but they said if the problem persists to bring it back in for bulb replacement.

Same issue here ... 2011 WRX started on one side and now both are doing it.... I had less than 1000 miles on it....don't want to really let them tear into the car this soon to fix the problem....

Not to mention when I had a turbo shield installed got home and popped the hood the mechs. Left my tranny stick out and was laying up under the hood on the side. With three screws to boot...I just don't trust peoples work anymore...

I'm afraid they'll cause damage just fixing my turn signals......rant over....

5) Replaced both turn signal bulbs myself and it went away for ~1500 miles before it started to do it again. I dealt with it because I didn't have time to go to the dealership for about another 1500 miles. Brought to a dealership and had them fix it when I had about 8500 miles on the car. They also fixed my fuel door for me since I had the problem where it wouldn't open all the time.

1.) 2010 WRX Sedan
2.) 10K
3.) Driver side front
4.) None, didn't take it in
5.) Replaced bulb and reduced the insane tension that was on the wire. I have no idea why they built it that way.

I'm glad to have seen this so I can make sure my dealer is aware this is a common problem and there is a TSB.

1) 2011 STI Sedan
2) Started around 600 miles (currently have 2000 miles)
3) Right turn signal
4) No quotes
5) I'll take it in soon.

Replacing the bulb will fix nothing unless the bulb is bad. Along with replacing the bad bulb the routing of the harness is too tight. Slightly re-route the harness to create some slack.

Also yes there is a TSB out but that is what the TSB tells us to do.

Sad...a few days ago at a local Subaru dealership I heard one of the service guys tell someone on the phone...We know it wasn't the bulb, we haven't run into this before, but we can replace the wring and socket for $XXX.XX!?! I am not sure if it was this exact problem, but from what I heard I would bet it was. Really sucks because I kind of like this dealership.

That's when you give them the TSB number and complain (or the car was out of warranty).

Dealer very familiar with issue, dealer fixed issue on 8/18/11 and problem came back 8/19/11

I might take matters in my own hands and try to fix it.

Started this week on passenger side. Wiggled the turn signal wire and it stopped.... definitely not a bulb issue but harness/connection. I don't have the oem airbox but I still had the cobb air box in the way. Getting to it from the fender looks like a good idea if u have a lift, ton of space down there.
