Happened to my 2011 WRX on the driver's side at ~1900 miles. Dealer replaced the whole headlamp assembly under warranty.

This happened to me today on my 2011 STI Sedan with just over 6k on it. It was an intermittent issue but now that found this thread if it happens again I am going to take it in.

After looking into it myself it has to do with the harass to the bulb
When you pop the hood and wiggly the wiring it fixes itself.

Driver side turn signal.

I removed the battery to gain access to the turn signal. Removed the turn signal socket , bulb, re-assembled, and put everything back together. Right now I have around 1500 miles and it hasn't acted back up again. Hopefully, this fixed the issue.

Recently fixed this on my car. Turned out that the standard fix of loosening the wires on the passenger side worked, and then on my driver side the bulb was just a little loose in the socket. I just had to push it in a little bit and the issue is resolved. Took like 5 min.

Fixing it myself after talking with a service department. Going to do the driver's side as well.

If you just replace your bulb, chances are the problem will come back. Since it's getting colder during the nights, the wiring is probably expanding and contracting more often. Even if you pull the bulb and replace it, the problem will persist until the wire has less tension...

Dealer fixed - under warranty- no problems since

There was actually another guy who pulled up right next to me at the dealer with the same exact problem. He had a sedan though. They said it's common

Default Fast blinker

2011 Impreza 2.5i Premium

Driver's side blinker started fast-blinking at about 300 miles (bought the car with 250). Finally got it into the dealer today with 2k miles on it now, dealer said it's been known to happen due to the cable being over stretched. Anyways it was re-routed and now both sides blink as they should ftw

2011 2.5i - both front blinkers too fast

11 miles on the car when it started on the right, then moved to the left by 100 miles.

I see the problem. I took the bulbs out, and the sockets they used are defective. The spring action of the contact plate behind the bulbs isn't long enough to keep the bulbs in tight. I have "reinstalled" my bulbs several times. This time it's lasted a thousand miles, we'll see about the future.

1) 2011 WRX 5-door
2) Sept. '11- ~1,500mi.
3) right signal intermittent
4) Oct. 31, '11 - Took to dealer, they had to order harness for right side, have to take back in a couple days.

5) At 1,500 miles, I found this thread and just replaced the bulb and relieved the tension on the wires. Today @ 4,200 miles, it started happening again. Took straight to dealer this time. Told them that I already tried the simple fix. Will update when I take it back.

What's funny is my '11 STI sedan hasn't had this issue yet. I've had it one week longer than the WRX.
