Dealer said there's a TSB out, and they adjusted both turn signals up front.

Ok, so I went to my dealer today, told them what was going on, and not only did they replace the light, they found the info on the cause. The 2008+ WRX models have a tendency for the wire to be pulled taut during the initial installation. With some jarring, heating and cooling it loosens the bulb's base from its terminals. While they had my front bumper off they replaced both turn signals AND re routed the tight wires, in theory, preventing the re-ocurance of this same issue.

Hopefully this can help someone else here.

Yep. A few people have either had that done at the dealer, or in my case, done it themselves. You can re-route it without taking off the bumper if you take out the air box (passenger side) or battery (driver side).

3) Right turn signal but for a day my left did it too but stopped
4)
5) Easy fix: took off air box, let the wire down from the clip it was in below the headlight, no more fast blinker. Ill do this to the left side too if it starts up again.

Happened to mine with less than 500 miles. It's randomly intermittant too, goes away every once in a while then comes right back.

Fixed the issue myself numerous times, but keeps coming back for no reason. One of these days I'll take out the battery or fender liner and actually reroute the wires.

Didn't realize this was an issue, glad i saw this. Only happened to me once, leaving work on a very cold morning. Put the left directional on to leave the street and it blinked super fast. Checked all the lights/signals 5 minutes later when i got home to see if any bulbs were out or blinking fast on the outside, but everything looked fine except on the dash. Next time i started the car everything was normal and hasn't showed up since.

Had this happen to me at 12,500 miles. Had to take it in two times. The first time they said the connection was loose. The second time they told me the harness was to tight and they had to reroute the wire. It's been good so far.

This happened a few times on my car over two days and it hasn't happened again. That was 2 months ago, I think. It stopped doing it before I could take it in for service.

I pulled the wire out of the "clips" relieve some tension but that didn't help. I changed the bulb and voila. Back to normal....

The bulb isn't always the issue. Bulb didn't help me. I had to take out the airbox and re-route the wiring.

Can someone give me a little info on moving the wiring? I popped the intake off and it looks to me like all the wiring goes straight down. I don't see anything that looks like I could easily adjust it:

Guessing I'm looking in the wrong place?

Look to the right, closer to the fender. The socket in the center of the photo is for the high beam. The low beam is the one on the right/off camera. The turn signal socket is even further to the right.

It's horribly intermittant, but seems to happen more often when I have the headlights on. Looks like there actually is a TSB out for it so I guess I'll talk to the dealer when I bring it in for my next oil change.

When it started happening I thought it was a bulb, but the front bulb is blinking really fast (seems to be about on par with the indicator in the cluster) and the rear one blinks at the normal rate.

Fun stuff.

2012 WRX Currently 62XX miles.
Passenger side blinker went wonky at 2k miles, along with condensation in both lamps.
Oddly enough, when I traded headlights for a short period of time with a 2011 WRX limited, the issue disappeared on mine and appear on his.

guys start w/ getting some slack on the cable and follow that up w/ bulb change. That's what I did and it works great. Anything after that bring it to dealer. Sometimes its a pain in the prick to go to the dealer for some little bs like this.

When I picked up my 2012 from my dealership it did the fast turn signal issue later that day. Its just tight cables from the factory. My dealership fixed it in about 10 minutes. They should be able to fix it real quick for you.
