Dexron III or IV

I'd suggest using M1 synthetic ATF or Motul syn ATF

I use Mobil1 synthetic ATF. It's rated Dexron IV. Inexpensive too.

well...you can remove and drain the reservoir and re-fill it and let the system cycle and repeat a couple times to flush the old fluid which does help.....but it does mix

I checked and checked and I see that Motul has many different ATF fluids.
When people say "I use Motul synthetic ATF" what are they referring to:
Motul Multi ATF?
Motul Dexron III?
Motul Gear Comp?
Motul Motylgear?
- and a few of these come in different viscosities. Does viscosity mater in PS or not?
Thanks

Also, REDLINE makes synthetic PS fluid that works well with Subarus....
http://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=79&pcid=27

RED LINE POWER STEERING FLUID satisfies the service fill requirements of most auto manufacturers and can be used where the manufacturer calls for any automatic transmission fluid such as DexronŽ, Dexron II-DŽ, II-EŽ, or Dexron IIIŽ, Ford Type-F, Mercon, or M2C138-CJ such as required by Ford, AMC, Toyota, Nissan, Lexus, Infiniti, Jaguar, VW, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, SAAB, Subaru, Volvo, Porsche, Mitsubishi, Mazda, and many others.

Use Dexron VI (or equivalent) ATF: it replaces any former designations (e.g. Dexron III; IIE; II; etc.)

or Valvoline synthetic ATF. Or any brand non-synthetic ATF. It doesn't matter.

True, but it was bumped by another due to relevance and the forum rules of 'recycling' posts instead of creating another same/similar post.
