Unhappy Matt Marker RIP

Stunned when I saw this on RALLY AMERICA.

http://www.rally-america.com/news/934/

Yeah he was a super cool guy I ran into him at Sno-Drift in 2009. This is the only shot of him I got at a service stage. He was having a great time!!!

(there is also another post for Matt on here)
Hundreds of news stories are flooding the internet.
His car caught a little air when he lost control on a curve. Dropped down a 40ft embankment and hit a tree near the pillar and roof from what we understand. He was pronounced dead at the scene....

God this kills me to have to know this tragic accident happened to such a unique and phenomenal friend and person. Rally in peace bud!

What a rough weekend! This is now my second time going through such an incedent at an event, but the first to lose someone i knew.

Our team first met Matt in tech at SnoDrift this year. While we only knew him for a short time we all became good freinds and could feel Matt's amazing energy instantly. I had the honor of spending some decent time with him this weekend and were planning for the STPR and NEFR events together as a team. I was very excited to have Matt wanting to join our teams for those events knowing that his energy and attitude would add that something special as it usually does.

Our team all have very heavy hearts over this loss, but are very happy to have known him for the short time we did.

Love to all our rally sisters and brothers, Matt and his family and freinds.

Well Said.
We ( T-Hanson Motorsports 523 ) have always enjoyed working with Matt.
Travis and Terry Hanson have great and very recent memories shared with him.
He was always willing to help, even when he had his own car to work on.

We will all miss him. This is a huge loss for our rally community, friends, and most importantly - the family of Matt Noble Marker. As we plan fund raising efforts in his honor, please show your support and acknowledge his passion and love for rally by helping his family with a contribution. More info will be available soon.

For those who knew Matt - he was a real rally hippy - loved the greatful dead, music of all kinds. We will never forget him jamm'n to Pennywise while driving on stage with Neon lights under the car -

POR Matt !

- I hoped to share this with Matt - but hopefully everyone else can enjoy something I didn't get to him in time.

RIP and Rally On. This community always amazes me with the heart & soul they show, I'm humbled to be even a part of it.

Many other automotive communities could learn some valuable lessons here.

My sons and I met Matthew at the 100 Acre Wood rally during the service stop on Saturday. He stopped working on the car and came over to talk to my boys and I. He gave them high 5's and praise for coming out to the rally. He was a real class act and I could tell he loved driving that car.

Our thoughts are with him, his family, and team. RIP brother.
