Default Help identifying engine/pulley noise?

Sounds like a chattering sound from maybe the ac compressor pulley? Doesn't change when the AC is turned on or off. No squealing/squeaking noises. It usually is present on cold startup and then is intermittent when warmed up. Any suggestions? Thanks.

For others searching: it ended up being the small timing belt idler.

Start removing belts to isolate the noise or check with a long screw driver/stethascope to so see where the noise is coming from.

Check the A/C idler pulley. I just had the same sort of sound and it went away after the car warmed up. It's the small pulley under the tensioner for the A/C compressor.

That what it sounds like to me.
