Could you just unplug your AFC and reset your ECU? IIRC, the AFC should have a harness you can unplug somewhere even if the final connections are soldered (unless I'm confusing it with my SFC).

should be able to disconnect the s-afc from the wiring harness that goes to the ecu. then reconnect the map sensor wire that you cut during the install.

bought the afc used, so I didnt get the clips for the map tap, where you can just plug them back in and disconnect the harness.

I know that I'm not an expert on this. But wasn't there some sort of map sensor recall on the old school scoobies? I remember reading about Nino having a problem with his too.

Close, but that was a MAF, mass air flow sensor recall on my99.

my00-01 doesnt use a MAF sensor, it uses a MAP, Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor to determine air flow, its supopse to be much better

and to think im gonna buy another one of these cars...this one has been nothing but a headache :monkey: to subaru.

MAP...MAF...sorry I got them mixed up.

I was only trying to be helpful. I'll go back to being a designer and leave the car stuff to the gurus.
