Talking My First Pullover In The Rex!!

Well, I knew it had to happen sooner or later. I was taking a friend of mine home late last night. I had a car following me kinda close so I turned a street early. Low and behold it was a police officer. When I cut back over there he wassitting at the stop sign. I pulled up and turned using my blinker. He lit me up after about 100 yards. Very friendly officer. He said he pulled me over because my license plate frame is covering my tab and wanted to make sure I was legal. He said my SCC "Let The Ass Kicking Begin" frame was pretty neat. Older officer too. I told him I noticed it was like that and have been meaing to trim it. He then told me my exhaust was kinda loud. He then said, "But don't change it! It sounds great!!" and told me to have a good night. My friend that was with me has a new Trans Am. She thought it was pretty funny how the cop thought my car was so cool and he didn't say a word when he pulled her over a while ago and never said anything like that.
Oh yea. As soon as I pulled over I kept my hands on the wheel and he said that he appreciated that. My friend wondered what he was talking about then I explained to her that officers like that better than moving all around looking for stuff. That makes them suspicious when you do that.
I also got a thumbs up from an older DNR officer the other day when he pulled up next to me at a red light.
So last night was the fourth time I have had a police officer tell me he liked my car. Can't beat that!

I might have you beat,

I work at the Troy Police Department off I-75, but I m not a cop yet, just an Intern who wishes he was. Well, I got my Wrx last August a couple months after I started at Troy. Since then, I have had many cops tell me different things, mostly good. I just recently had the car tinted and modified with a loud exhaust. Its funny one cop told me he's going to right me a tint ticket, but I just laughed at him. Also one day I floored my car through the parking lot right past one of the traffic cops I know, who was sitting in his car getting ready to go out and I timed it perfectly that the blow-off valve (RFL) went off right by his window and scared him. He then proceeded to chase me with his lights going, the funny thing was he couldn't catch me. I told him before, that the cop cars were slow, he found out. This Tuesday my clutch finally goes in and the same cop I flew by said were going to take my car out next time I work and test it on I-75 with him driving, I said cool.

Also my best friend is a Traffic Cop in Detroit, 9th precinct. He runs radar on Outer Drive and says its a good 1/4 mile strip if I ever want to use it. Always nice to know.

I will meet you guys August 3rd at Lapeer. Look for me, I'm the skinny kid with the blue wrx it has tint and rims. Also, I've never raced on a drag strip before so hopefully someone can fill me in on what to do. I know you have to wear a helmet thats about it.

Thanks for the directions, kensington.

Why do I get all the tough ones

You guys need to start riding w/me so your positive aura will rub off.

These tickets are going to be expensive and my insurance will still probably go up

Cops are fine, you just don't want to give them cause for alarm.

Two major things are:
Moving around in the car after you are stopped, or getting out
Tinting your windows; cops can't see what you're doing so they are less at ease.
I've heard cops don't like radar detectors, but that's not liable to make a cop moe jumpy, just more likely to ticket you.

Personally I don't like tint because I always want to see traffic ahead fo the car in front (particularly brakelights) and tinted glass blocks the view you'd get through the car ahead.

After telling my Dad about it today, I found out it was probably a guy that goes to their church. He fit the description.

I can post a similar positive cop story. I was tuck in traffic, going nowhere, and a cop was also stuck, but going in the opposite direction. Being a nice sunny day, we both had our windows down. When I noticed him, I thought he was giving me the "troublemaker" look. But as we actually stopped dead next to each other (but facing opposite directions) he says to me, "nice car". We proceeded to talk about the car for the next couple of minutes (me having sweaty palms the whole time), until his light turned green and he got to move a bit (lucky bastard), his parting words: "I gotta get me one of them."

a cop was directing traffic at olive and 270 (mad construction) and stopped traffic right in front of me. I was all mad cause it was going to take forever to go....then he walks over to me. I crap my pants, then talk to him. He was super cool! He has a silver wrx and wanted to know where I got my headlights. (painted stock with HIDs)...and then asked if i knew of any webpages. Hopefully we will see him on here sometime!

cops were doing insurance stops and traffic was backed up for about a mile, i got up to the cop, and of course didnt have my current insurance card in the car, but the cop proceeds to talk to me about my car for about 5 minutes then tells me to go ahead....

only 'pull over' in wrx so far. but i've been keepin' it well under the limit cause of previous tickets (yes that is plural....) in an eclipse....
