Talking Self Intro to NASIOC Community

Hello all,

First post in NASIOC forums. Long time admirer of Subaru engineering, specifically the Impreza WRX line.

Recently (and *finally*) a proud owner of a 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX!

To add, my first manual transmission vehicle & enjoying the challenge of learning something new.

Hope to eventually be a contributor to the community, and absorb a good knowledge base of experienced drivers.

Below is a link to an image of my Impreza, as I am not yet allow to post images (attachments) - I assume due to not yet meeting the minimum amount of posts.

Welcome and congrats, bomuheii. Once you get the hang of driving a car with a manual transmission, you'll have a blast. Seeing the fact you live in Lost Wages, I would suggest making sure the oil is new, and all other fluids are fresh. It's about to get stupid hot there in a month or so.

Enjoy your new ride!

Welcome and nice car! I am also a fairly new WRX owner and I love it.

Posting pictures on here is a little tricky at first. I use photobucket to post pictures. If you search something like "posting pictures" you'll figure out the different ways to post pictures. Unfortunately their isnt an "attach photo" button

Here ya go! Welcome.

(For future reference, I added it by going to the Picasa album, right clicking on the picture, clicking "copy image location," and sandwiching the pasted URL between "". Or, you could paste the URL into the "add picture" box on the post editor. The pictures are not added as attachments.)

P.S. that picture makes your scoop look behemoth.

Thanks! Yes, agreed on the preventative services.

I purchased the car used @50K. Immediately did an engine flush, had the oil changed with synthetic, and ran the injector cleaner.

Just those 3 services were a bit costly after a new car purchase + DMV registration. Next on the list is the front/rear differentials and radiator purge.

The obvious concern here is that its used, and can never be too careful of what the previous owner's commitment to car care was.

Thanks for posting the image for me (and tips).

A friend/fellow WRX owner/enthusiast said the same thing about the size of my hood-scoop.
