I loved the red films with the middles cut out and almost went that route myself but decided overall the rest of the car was dark so mine as well do the lights that way too.
Hey, this is the exact look I am looking for with my 2012 Black STI hatch. How well does the light shine through?

It is so hard to keep this car clean up in Tahoe during the winter. I'll be sure to take some good pictures when I clean the car for summer.

geeze guys, i just applied my overlays last night! it was very difficult! even with a heat gun... luckily they look OK until you get up close... i have some bubbling and stretch marks. does anyone have a real-time, full-length video of how to install on a GR hatch? do most people remove the rear tail lights to do the install???

Yes, the overlays come out much cleaner when installing them on the tails while off the car. Even my local tinter screwed them up slightly on the outside lenses because he didn't remove the tails.

thanks for the response!

what are you guys using to apply the overlay? more specifically, i used an old credit car, but i think that those can scratch the overlay... what's a good replacement for using the credit card?

THANKS!

use a bondo squeegee, they're pretty soft but still firm enough. Autozone sells them in a pack of 3 sizes fairly cheap.

Do you have any quality installers in the Connecticut area? I tried installing the outside tail light overlay and couldn't even finish it.

Using a heat gun and felt squeegee I couldn't do it, its too difficult to mold it around the corner and those two ridges without creases and/or getting the film to align right so that you dont have to stretch it out crazy to reach the edges.
