Maybe its because my car is white, but I like the look ofthe stock tails. The guy that had my car before me painted them red. I couldn't stand it! Made it hard to see the lights and the back up lights were totally useless. The bat overlay does look better than what my painted red looked like. Went last week and go it all new ones. I'm leaving them the way they left the factory.

Just did mine. Took just under a week to get them and Andy communicated quickly and kept me up to date on delivery. Love the look! Thanks Andy
My best advice on the install is to remove the outers for the install. I used the soapy water trick and after lining up the section that is cut out, I used a little heat to get them to stick. From there center the rest of the piece and push out as many bubbles as possible. You will have a ton of bunching, but don't freak out like I did the first 2o minutes LOL. Once you have it relatively flat use a hairdryer and slightly heat up the plastic, don't get too close, and start stretching to the outside as you go. Don't be afraid to peal a small section off to get rid of creases as you go. Work your way around the whole light and your done. Take your time and it will pay off! Trim it when you are done! Did yours come rolled up really tight?
I'm trying to let the pieces lay flat before I take the lights out and do this. |

Yes, they were rolled up tight, but I unrolled them and let them sit in the sun for awhile and they were fine. Another helpful hint is to spray them with the soapy H2O as you pull them off the backing so they don't stick together. Good luck!

I've never used it, but I did some reading before installing mine and people used everything from plain water to alcohol and water mixed. The soap lets you move it around real easy in my experience. Patience is my best advice. I almost gave up on the first big piece I did after about 20 minutes and then read one of the links provided on the sheet that comes with the overlays. It is hard to explain, but you just have to trust that as you heat it and stretch it that it will all turn out right in the end.
Mine are not professional, but I'm happy with them! Most important they pass the 4 foot test. LOL![]() |

Yeah, I've worked with vinyl before, but only on nice somewhat flat glass.
Thanks for the extra push. |

Anyone have pics of their overalys on a spark silver hatch? I want to get some overalys for my car but Im not sure whether the red outline or the red outline with a light smoke would look good with it. Any opinons are appreciated!

Got the outers on last night. I think I need to re heat them up and stretch the edges to get 99% of the wrinkles to go away. Have a few in the middle but it's not terrible.

Nice gallery! Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to see your work from today!
Sending the tails would have made more sense, but I would have loved to see the look on the drivers face when he showed up and your were standing there with stickers all over you. ![]() ![]() Quote:

Got mine installed by O HELLA JDM this weekend. He did a great job they look perfect, 100% better than stock. I am also getting a layer of smoke over the red installed in a couple days after the red layer cures completely.
