Picked up a red set from Andy and had Ryan install them today for my DGM hatch. I cant get over how much better the car looks now.

any tips on putting on the outer light overlays? Installed the inners with no problem, but that weird bump/curve in the outer lights has been giving me some issues. Thanks

Next time i do one ill try and remember to make a small video of the outter install, but a tip is that i do take off the tails so i can better stretch what is needed.

^Agreed. If I were to do it over again, I'd take the lights off. At least the outside pieces. You don't have to worry about tucking the excess also.

I did take them off, still had issues. Some wrinkles in the middle by the "bump" and then the edges wouldn't stick correctly and wrinkled.

hard to describe what i do, but i get most of the tail light done before i take it out. use heat and if it doesnt turn out the way you want, pull it off, re spray and re apply the section that u messed up. are you guys using heat guns and squeegees?

I had a pro grad hair dryer that could burn fingers and plenty of soapy water.

A good how to vid would be great for the outers before I buy and try this.

I'm contemplating going the spray paint route using this http://www.vhtpaint.com/products/niteshadesred/ with a top layer of glossy clear. I'm afraid i won't get a smooth finish and will come out with a tacky/sticky feel to it. what do you guys think?

How is the daytime/nighttime visibility of the "Smoke Redout" overlay in regards to all of the lights (brake, reverse, blinkers, etc)? I'm going back and fourth between that and the basic Redout overlay, but want to be sure there's no visibility issues. Does anyone have pictures with lights on?

ill try and make the best video i can, but can give all my secrets lol, but when i install vinyl its like second nature to me so i dont really think about it, but like i said ill do the best i can once i get another hatch

There isnt any visibility issues, when they are on, the leds in the tails are bright and clear. I think andy (bluebat) has pictures of when the lights are on, or when the person pressed the brakes in his gallery. If not ill see if i can get a previous customer to come over and help me take pics

I've seen painted tails that are home made and they don't hold up, they turn pinkish orange after a while.
