Default Clutch adjustments?

I was wonderig how would you go about adjusting a clutch? Its sitting too high from where it was originally placed.

It seems that the linkage is solid and can not be adjusted.

But just in case it can, I'd like to know. My tranny problem (not wanting to go into 1st or reverse) is indicative of side to side adjustment being off. Releasing the clutch and pressing it again seems to resolve the issue (but fluids ok)


Any thoughts on adjustment or troubleshooting are appreciated.
