Default Dipstick broke off in Fill Tube

So I was simply putting my dipstick back into my 5MT and must have bent it just right because it broke off inside the trans. I cannot see any of it down the tube with a flashlight I tried a few different magnets with no luck. Is there a way to take the dipstick/fill tube off? Any other input or options to fix this predicament?

you may be able to fish it out of the drain hole if you're lucky. I dropped a heat shield bolt in there once and stupidly put a magnet in next, which snapped off. I got both out of the drain plug hole.

Drain hole is your next best bet. I snapped one off as well, a few years back.

Well luck wasn't on my side when the darn thing broke off in the first place. I guess I'll try the drain hole next, if only that fill tube could pulled out it would be helpful

A magnet down the fill tube and PRAY.
The same thing happened to me. It broke right where the dipstick was riveted to the pull handle.
I was able to get mine with a thin magnet wand.

So no luck yet even got an inspection camera to see down in the tube and I see the darn thing put cannot get to it, looks pressed up against the tranny wall near the tube, I need to pull that tube out but heat and yanking in it has not helped..

I def wouldn't try and pull that tube out. It looks like if you moved the car back and forth a lilttle the ring gear may move the piece enough to grab it with a claw or a magnet.

Success!

Maddog your advice helped out great! I was able to use the camera whilst turning the front wheels by hand and the dipstick rotated around and eventually I was able to hook it with a coat hanger. $80 harbor freight camera gets some props too but now I can relax!
