Yeah I'm sure if the clutch was damaged and it was found to be a defect and not caused by the driver they would replace it under warranty again. The service writer just told me that they will do it once whether it was your fault or not if it's under the 3yr 36k.

The service writer also told me that SOA will replace your clutch no questions asked if they find something wrong with it and you are still under your 3yr/36k but only once during that time and the extended warranty doesn't cover the clutch after the 36k is up. They are even covering my loaner Chevy Cruze for the next day or two for them to finish the work. Hope that info helps someone.
nice! glad that worked out for you. which dealership was it if you don't mind PMing me.

Really not sure. My car feels like its misfiring at idle but it goes away if you rev it up sometimes. Idk no codes so far. I was curious what they meant as well.

Stock ftw

I'm debating making any interior mods like JPM shiftboot/ebrake boot, since the next wrx is coming...although if its 2015 then I might as well. Then again, its kind of a waste of money.

yeah it might be hard not to trade in for the new one if it shares any BRZ DNA

I'm not sure if the bumpy idle is really tune or mod related...could be from abuse, maybe a fouled plug or something along those line

On the '08+ STi models, after getting a tune and running higher than factory boost, some of them have a "stumble" at low RPM cruising. Usually somewhere between 2400-3200. I notice mine a lot when driving on the highway.

Yeah the rumored numbers and whatnot make it seem pretty enticing.

Although, its pretty funny when people here nitpick the current wrx when it performs better than anything on the market for the similar price point. Even with its underperforming rsb and tires, it handles just as well in tests as the MS3, ST, etc., is faster in a straight line, and is lighter despite being AWD vs FWD...yet those cars are somehow still "better"

ok.

I posted that in the you know you drive a wrx thread because some rocket scientist posted "because you just got beat by an ST"...well since the ST is only .1g better in allout cornering, slow as balls in a straight line, etc. I don't see how that makes any sense. People on here are so ****ing stupid.

well its a tricky subject, the WRX just kind of muscles its way past with brute force and AWD traction. Its a rough around the edges, unbalanced understeer monster in stock form..lol. I like the rumbley charm and simplicity and just the fact that it isn't FWD but it is lacking in a lot of areas.

I believe the FPR and damper is different on the WRX vs STi, which is why it isn't an issue on them.

Edit: I have just been reading up on this stuff a lot over the past week because my car is just awful to drive on the highway, and I have been looking for a solution. I'll be trying the fuel line extension soon.

This is what I heard as well, looks like it applies to STI's only.

Our WRX's do have some shortcomings but the good out wounds the bad Imo. Most gripes can be remedied fairly easily and for not too much money, can't beat the amount of info/write ups that are available for almost any modification you can imagine for our cars.

I know exactly what you are talking about, I notice them sometimes too. Interesting that the cobb OTS map and TP map seem to both have the them? I wonder if a protune would fix that?

question about dealerships and oil changes. my first oil change was at the dealership where i bought the car new, they soon sold their subaru rights to another local dealer. i got my second oil change there. i then moved cities where i had two oil changes at a different dealership. then i moved back to the original city (still with me?) and im getting calls from the local dealership here saying i havent had any oil change in a really long time blah blah. so, obviously theres no communication between these dealers, so how do they know if ive "used up" my oil changes since ive been doing it every 4k instead of 7k?

what stops people from getting an oil change every couple thousand miles by just rotating dealerships?

guess this post from iwsti confirms it doesn't work for WRX's

Quote:
This is for only the STi. I actually tested this on a customers GR WRX and it didnt do anything. But the WRXs dont have the exact same fuel system as the STi so it makes sense. We just tried it out for ****s and giggles.

True, but when you post numbers from measured races, these geniuses post clinical studies where they "beat" a wrx on the freeway...or on some side streets, whatever.

Durr, the st is .1 second faster from 60-110 than the wrx!! its so much better!! fwd isnt a design flaw!!

what kind of ******* uses street racing stats? Its like the people that say the wrx is only fast because of awd. What difference does it make? They say if it were fwd or rwd it would be on par with everything else, but it isnt, so who gives a ****? Ah, the logic of plumbers.

yeah ive seen some puzzling street racing outcomes in the past lol..i mean no I haven't

the problem with calling the WRX faster than a car which has better top end is that on the street you aren't going to be launching your car much so you are generally rolling around with less acceleration than something like an MS3. On the other hand when it comes time to launch the MS3 it torque steers into the forest. I don't really get why the MS3 keeps beating the WRX in comparisons, people don't seem to actually enjoy owning them as much in the real world..unless its just the WRX's largerfan(boy) base making it seem that way. Personally I don't care if the st and ms3 are better to drive because they are worse in bad weather and I hate not being able to accelerate hard because the road is damp(like in my rsx lol).

the problem with the WRX is pretty much this
It isn't nice car, but its blend performance and all weather capabilities spoil all of the nicer cars in the price range. My friend and I have started calling it the best/worst car ever.
