What kind of sways are you considering? I'm considering Cobb's right now but haven't fully committed yet

Love my white line sways. The powder coat is standing up up much better than the old painted ones.

Installed the Harman Motive rear sway bar and kartboy rear endlinks. I will save the front sway and endlinks for another day. I'm really liking the rear one so far though. I can tell a huge difference even over the sti rear I had on there, I actually got the rear end to come out a little (closed course obviously) but it felt very controlled and it was easy to control it as well. Will be interesting to see what difference the front makes.

nice

so new development with the misfiring..sort of

i was playing around with hoses under the hood. took off the ic, made sure everything was tight, wiggled some stuff. Anyway I seem to have made it worse. It felt kind of odd when I was driving around like it was a bit more sluggish down low and it seemed to be engine braking faster tha usual..may have been my imagination, idk.

Anyway this morning I turned it on to log the idle. It was misfiring constantly for like 10 mins. I decided to shut it off and restart it for some reason and that just stopped it almost totally. Seems like some sort of fueling issue.

here is the log if anyone is curious

Have you thought about upgrading to the dw65? I was talking with Clark Turner and he seems to think it's a must even at stage 2. I've heard it's not a very difficult install and even if it doesn't fix your issue it definitely couldn't hurt?

what is dw65?

after doing some logging it seems like the right tgv motor is out of whack. You can see if you look at the log I posted that when the misfires are happening the angle is bouncing all over the place only on the right side. Eric and my friend pointed it out to me. I tried loosening the motor and twisting it to get it to read 82 degrees, seemed slightly better. Then I took it to the car wash and when the water sprayed my hood it misfired and the angle started bouncing around so it may be a loose wire or something stupid. It always seems worse in rain and humidity.

So I can either replace the motor if I can find one, delete the tgvs which seems like a pain or I believe I can just unplug them which will lock them in the open position and then disable the CEL's with rom raider.

Or I can try to use my warranty lol.

It doesn't seem like that is your problem in this case but it's something I'm going to be looking into in the future. Glad you are getting to the bottom of this issue, a friend of mine that has minimal experience did his own tgv deletes so they may not be too bad. I would say go for warranty first though, that is if you have located a mod friendly stealership.

I'm sure a fuel pump wouldn't be a bad idea

I may just unplug them and disable the codes until the warranty is over lol

edit: although I'm finding conflicting info on what happens if you unplug them, some say they stay open and others say closed

Now my third gear is jumping around in revs at constant throttle on a smooth flat road at consistent speed. Wtf, time for another clutch? Replace 3rd? Also getting the feeling of engine braking at too high of speed-that bouncy, bucking motion in second and third at constant throttle. I have no idea what the issue is. Going to take it to the dealer, and probably hear from the mouth breathing service guy that I have been racing.. Ok.

13700 or thereabouts

great, another clutch issue. what the hell. Hopefully they'll just lemon it. Makes me want to get an sti just to avoid this kind of crap. I had the original replaced at 11k, including the throwout bearing. Not that I am an expert on transmission things, as far as I am concerned transmissions are magic potatoes.

sti wouldn't help you with clutch problems. maybe the dealer installed it wrong or didn't adjust the pedal travel after installing it. even if you beat the living **** out of it the clutch shouldn't be wearing out that often.

actually if its only 3rd gear I guess that makes it a tranny issue, not a clutch issue. if the clutch was going it would have have trouble if you punch it at a low rpm in 4th or 5th also.

well I haven't been going WOT at low rpms so havent seen anything there. Its 2nd and 3rd and this is at minimum the second big pain in the ass, so if it isnt the clutch, then I dont know what to do about it. I just dont want to hear some bull**** about how they cant replicate it, since they did that before then when I finally convince them to open it up, the clutch is crumbling and at like 10%.

Yeah I'm constantly searching cars.com for those. Problem with older sti's is they are beat and insanely expensive. There is an 04 sti with 200,000 miles for 13k lol

used wrx/sti if you like blowing money for no reason other than the name (ie, used 2011 wrx just like mine would go for $26k, wat)
used bmw if you have access to cheap oem parts and the ability/means to fix everything

I wouldnt touch an out of warranty bmw/mb/audi with a 13 foot pole.

I can't see how the rpms would be jumping around if it was the transmission. Did you follow the 500 mile break in on the new clutch?

Well obviously if I got an m3 I would save extra money for parts. I'm pretty mechanically inclined so any work needed would be performed by me. I just got ripped off at the dealership the other day and decided to NEVER bring my car anywhere to get it worked on. I have had pretty much a bad experience every time I've taken my car somewhere
