i think you can make most of them fit if u just use 5x100 rotors if anything you just need a custom bracket to mount the calipers or something

So specifically vague. hahaha Thanks.

I'll keep researching. I just don't want to spend $5k on "big brakes". I was wondering if the Subaru red/black brake kits fit our stock set up or if I have to get different rotors and such? I was hoping someone might know off the top of their head.

Quick Google search brings up StopTech and K Power for starts. I'm familiar with StopTech, not K Power, though.

I haven't checked on Wilwood since I got my car last year...

I did! I'm looking for a SET (front and rear). Front brakes can be swapped all day, errday, it seems, but the rears seem to be a pain.

The red big brakes from Subarugenuineparts.com are not meant for the 2008+ for whatever reason, yet Godspeed has a rear Brembo fitting kit. If rear Brembo are similar to the rear red big brake calipers then I guess I'm good to go.

I was just hoping there was a 2011 WRX Big Brake Kit Front + Rear, but I guess my thinking is just too revolutionary at this point in time. hahaha

Thanks, though, Cel. I don't mean to be a pain. Just kind of obsessed right now. Maybe we should start talking about how crappy Subaru paint is or how much people ACTUALLY paid for their STI's? Ohhh burn! haha <3

Booyah! If you read my POST, son!

I just want my brake to look uniform. None of this "fronts only" stuff.

Brembos on '11's.

Fronts will work for 04-up with 04 STI rotors or 05+ drilled for 5x100 w/o a need for a new bracket
Rears will work for 08-up with STI rotors drilled for 5x100 w/o a need for a new bracket. Trimming will have to be done to dust shield.
KNS brakes is working on a bracket to fit pre '08 rears on '11s.

Done here --> http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2259264

I ended up getting an insane deal on some "like new" ones that will be going on the car next week. Painting them silver with black Brembo logos to match the car.

That's great info rsutton, BUT, what is the e-brake fix on this swap? Did you buy STi(190mm) shoes, or do you run e-brakeless?

I am going with rear rotors from KNS that work. I'm not sure if what he did worked as well or not. It wasn't mentioned.

$1800 is a lot of money to do that...

this looks pretty sweet
http://www.fastbrakes.com/category_s/206.htm

idk the more I think about it, the more I think you may as well go aftermarket and try to outdo oem sti brakes instread of just paying out the ass for stock sti parts..(i know I said the opposite of this a few posts ago..so sue me..lol)

you could always just strap on your balla shoes and do this

I didn't pay anywhere close to 1,800. You just have to be patient and watch the classifieds.

How about the oil from the dealer? I've been reading up and only conclusion I got was that all oils do far aren't the best for these cars...

yeah probably a good idea

there isnt really much clear data out there on oil. its pretty much a bunch of stupid opinions and idiots who think their cars are faster after oil changes. Just change it fairly often and you should be fine no matter what oil you use. Technically 2011s require synthetic so you should probably stick with something synthetic or you could probably void your warranty

Warranty wise, I'm not very comfortable with that, as subaru says everywhere - owners manual, official announcements, even in big letters on the oil cap itself - 5-30.

yeah I don't see the point in changing viscosity unless you are doing some sort of serious build

Hmmm. Thanks for the heads up then... In that case I'll buy the dealers oil and be done with it. I got a lot to learn...
