Any benefits of running a drop in air filter such as Perrin, k&n, ect.

Main benefits would be just to hear the sticking bov go off. Will be purchasing a Cobb SF later down the road but at the moment just a drop in.

I know that used to be one of the advantages of cobb, but now you get get it on open source too. your choice $181 shipped plus the cost of a tune or $600 plus the cost of a tune to do the same thing

My Cobb heat shield rattles under certain, low accelerations. Any ideas on loosening it so it doesn't rattle when slapping against other metals? Is it as simple as loosening a bolt on one side and tightening a bolt on another side to adjust how it sits a bit? I'm pretty sure I just need about an extra mm or two of clearance. The sound is more pronounced this winter than it was all summer. It rattled a bunch when I first installed it, but then went away after a few days.

I just discovered there doesn't appear to be any way to lock all of the doors with a key in the ignition. Does anyone know of an easy way?

Sit in the driver seat, lock all of the doors, unlock the driver door by the handle, exit car, close door, use other key to "classicly" lock the door.

Baby, you got yourself a stew!

But I can't lock them in the first place because it automatically unlocks them as soon as I do.

Edit: oooh, manually from the inside. Got it, thanks.

Keep the car running, but locked, if you don't have autostart. Alaska doesn't have a law against leaving your car running as far as I know.

Anyone who knows how to drive stick and wants to take a joyride across town in a warm 2011 WRX. Would you leave your car running and unlocked in the middle of town?
Yes that's what I just learned, you have to physically lock each door individually from the inside, and then manually lock the drivers door with a key from the outside.
You used 'u' instead of 'you' just to piss me off didn't you?

If you push this while the key is in the ignition it immediately unlocks all the doors, so that you don't lock your keys in the car by accident.

You obviously know nothing about Alaskan brown bears and their natural affinity towards thieving turbocharged Subarus. It's no laughing matter. I seen't this happen... I seen't it.

So I am a noob to the WRX world, but I bought my 2011 a few months back over the summer. It took me a while but I finally read through this entire thread. I still am debating whether or not to tune and risk voiding the warranty. I drive A LOT for my job so I need the car to be reliable and can't afford to fix something too expensive outside of warranty. The mileage messages starting a little earlier, I have almost 17k on my 2011 already.
