How's the stage 2 running for you? My catless DP gets here Thursday. Pretty excited personally!

Mine was the same way but ever since I cleaned the MAF out it really has been running great, I'm making it a part of my maintenance from now on. Every oil change I'll be cleaning it out. I had MAF issues myself on one of my VW's and my Audi and this usually did the trick but they still used to eat those sensors like it was going out of style.

Oh I bet! We're friends with the owner of the shop that did the work and he even had the rep from the paint company come down and look at it and try to figure out what the next mix could be different, but when it was all said and done I just wanted to get her back in the car and turn the rental in so I just let it be. Almost makes me glad I didn't get SWP lol, although I have a feeling SSM will be a pain too. Ugh.

I dont understand peoples issue with K&N filters and the oil. Ive run them for 6 years on 2 different vehicles both equipped with MAF and have not had the first problem. Also the oil is necessary for the filtering process if you dont have it then i weep for your engine.

I've always ran oiled filters on my cars as well and I'm not saying they're the problem and or cause, but in my case cleaning my MAF solved my idle issues so it leads me to believe that perhaps the combination of the moisture, oil, and the in my recent case overwhelming amount of dirt from the turnpike made it do the funky chicken. (my filter had spots of 'mud' on it), so trust me I'm glad the oil was there to help keep that crap out!

Does anyone else's 4th gear crunch when shifting from 3rd gear?

Hmmm.... I've hardly ever redlined my car since it scares me too much.

What I've noticed is that when I have the clutch all the way down, 1st-3rd gears will engage fine, but if I lift up slightly they try to grind/crunch.

However, if I have the clutch all the way down and attempt to engage 4th gear, it crunches, almost grinding. If I lift up the clutch a little, though, it goes in smooth as butter.

When shifting down from 5th gear it doesn't matter how the clutch is pressed in, it won't crunch at all, as long as it's pressed in.

I prefer consistent, quick shifting since I learned to drive stick in my STI, but I'm thinking the WRX just isn't set up that way. Odd that I'm just now realizing it, though.

lol im not being serious geez

but i have redlined my car lots of times. having a celica gt-s and an RSX-S will get you into that habit since they don't go anywhere w/o redlining lol

i want a BRZ but it just doesn't seem very practical, fast or comfortable

I feel like i could get a used s2k, 350z, miata or mr2 fr like a third of the price and have just as much fun

The BRZ seats are TIGHT. I'm 6'1 and 163lbs, so not a fat guy, but my shoulders felt kinda awkward (but I guess in a good way, especially for track days).

Yes that happens, have you thought about switching out your fluid? I have motul sitting in my garage, just been too lazy to change it out. As well has my full header back, pickup tube, bushings, braces, steering wheel, and gauges. Man im so lazy.

Ok my paranoia is killing me. I get a tapping noise when I'm cruise. At a dead stop it's faint but present. Mods are catless dp q300 exhaust.

Here is a link to the video at a dead stop.

Someone please tell me I'm crazy and that subarus are supposed to sound like that...

I have the same exhaust set-up but don't get that "tapping noise"... I would triple check everything's tight
