What year? Lgt brakes usually are marginally better than wrx. On the 2010+ they are nearly the same size as STi rotors

I thought people were always trying to upgrade their brakes TO the LGT ones?

When I had my 10 lgt and went to brembos, I had all kind of offers to buy my lgt's do they could auto cross incognito with larger rotors.

2010 got larger brakes, I thought people just felt bad that the mighty spec b didn't get Brembo.

recently installed an AEM intake and one of those GReddy single exit catbacks from the Rallysport group buy.... Everything is so loud! I think I made my car worse... Let's see if I get used to it.

The intake is alright, I don't mind it since it makes cool sounds and isn't that obnoxious but the single exit is very loud, much louder than I thought it'd be. I wonder if I can make money off of it since I got it at the group buy price.

Silencer

It really isn't that loud. Cold idle is a bit noisy, but after that it settles down

It's true, the silencer is its saving grace. I think I will get used to the sound, I'm more worried about pissing off friends and such.

It just seems that the exhaust reverberates in the hatch from 2-3k rpm. Idle is super quiet, quieter than my nameless catback. WOT sounds very nice, the only thing I don't like is that it can make a racket when I'm driving normally. Maybe I'll learn how to use less gas driving around town

It makes itself very noticeable on first takeoff, but I'd still put it at like a 6.5/10 for noise. And I keep hearing the silencer saps a bunch of power, I took mine out before I installed it and it hasn't been back

Once you've heard the crawford turboback on a gd, the loudness of all other exhausts gets put into perspective lol

Yes the silencer will start taking power from you. It's a restriction in the exhaust flow.

Unfortunately, I think all of the hatch exhausts are loud except for the stock catback. I've got the SPT now and I think that's even a little louder than I was anticipating. The hatch just captures so much sound. I might (might) have a resonator welded in, but I just don't know if I want to start messing around with a perfectly good cat back.

I was trying to search for threads about sound deadening... got mixed results. I feel like if I put something down in the hatch area it'd have to help

I've thought about that, dynomat under the hatch floorboard would probably deaden it down

Dunno if a guy from this forum started this, but it has some good info about materials and such. I really want to try it but I don't want to pick the wrong material or use it in places that it's not useful.

Oh yeah, forgot about that upgrade.

Anyone else mess with the stock donut gasket with a catback? I'm just not convinced it's a real tight seal

wait, are you using the stock donut gasket with the Greddy catback?? I tried it and it didn't seem like it was designed for it. I used the smaller of the two supplied gaskets at the dp-mp flange. (I have a stock dp if it's not clear)

Yeah thats where I'm at, just doesn't seem to fit right. I'm thinking about making a DP my next purchase just to smooth that out so I feel better.
I used the gasket with the slotted bolt holes for the back flange because they lined up there. I think I'm gonna drive to my house/garage on Friday and get the car up in the air and see what it looks like

The Greddy is pretty loud, but it's not where near the loudest. The silencer makes it nearly stock quiet, but it took a bunch of power from my setup. On a stock turbo I don't think the difference would be as drastic, but it certainly won't help.

I'm very interested in ark vids and agency. Iir claims the agency to be moderate noise without drone.

Swapped my fortune auto coilovers for swift springs on the stock struts today. The swift springs are awesome, perfect for daily driving with a little stiffer more controlled feel. The coilovers were good performance wise, but they were noisy and I feel the spring rate were too low, got tired of messing with them.
