About Me
I'm Dennis, from Fairfax Virginia. I enlisted in the Marine Corps and ended up stationed at Camp Pendleton Marine Base in San Diego, California. While in the Marines I Deployed to both Iraq, and Afghanistan. Some of you may know me already, some may not. I'm the owner of this 2006 Subaru Impreza below. I purchased this car January 7th, 2006.
2006

It all started with just a K&N drop-in the day i picked her up. Then my coilovers arrived a week later. I went with a set of Megan street coilovers. I followed that up with a TurboXS FMIC kit (the first to be fitted to a 2006), a new intake and an Accessport were also installed among other things. In October I added a new turbo, a TD06H 20G, netting 378whp/403wtq on 93. By December as you can guess my gearbox exploded.
2007

I spent the majority of 2007 busy with the Marines. When I had time, I had Andrewtech install a set of PPG gears. I added some new wheels, 17x8 rota boost, and had the front bumper shaved. I also added a set of Evo VIII Recaro seats.
2008

I spent most of 2008 deployed. When I got back I Immediately blew all my money on my car. Underglow
2009

I was deployed all of 2009, so no real progress was made. Andrewtech assembled and Installed a new engine for me. I also added a ATP stock location 35R thats externally gated, and Jermain@turboXS tuned my car netting 510whp/480wtq.

2010

I drove from Fairfax County to San Diego in February of 2010. My friend TJ and I drove non-stop and arrived 31 hours later. A few months later i destroyed another gear set this time stripping my 3rd gear. I had it fixed by a "friend" and it failed within 200 mile of the repair, smashing input and output shafts into each other and destroying the case. I ended up replacing the whole transmission and case, no parts could be reused. As soon as i repaired my transmission i shattered my clutch drag racing. (Best 1/4 mile: 10.8 @131 1.7 60ft) as soon as that was fixed i realized the rear and center diff had worn badly as well so they got replaced with cusco 2 ways. after I recovered from that, my turbo failed and I had a Local shop make a rotated turbo kit for me. Literally a week after getting this set up tuned the block decided to crack.

2011

2011 sucked. dealt with a few ****ty SoCal Subaru/import shops and have come to the conclusion that all shops in the south west suck balls. i want to go back to Andrewtech . I had not so great shop build two engines for me, both died within 1000 miles from improper assembly and Timing. No refund and no warranty.
Ive recently added a new set of wheels, wrapped it a matte gray metallic with 3m 1080 vinyl wrap (if you want your car wrapped PM me). In addition Ive added a new and improved splitter. Gary at Universal Metals in Fullerton California hooked it up with a sheet (144"x80") of T6(aerospace grade aluminum) from which i cut a 74"x30" section and rounded the edges with a cut off wheel, and although this is not the prettiest method getting a CNC cut on a piece so big takes One hour for design input in the CNC and One-two hours for cutting. this option would cost 300(+400 for T6)dollars for the cut making it far more expensive than a composite carbon piece(500-600). anyways the 74"x30" was surprisingly light and extremely rigid! I attached it to my 12 point chromoly sub-frame at 6 points as well as 4 more spots (near where the impact sensor was mounted) with support rods made from aluminum flat bar. and then i used cables for the leading edge, they are cheap and strong and work great, they are attached to the body where the impact bar bolts to the body, i used billet aluminum turnbuckles with a few large washers and a forged loop on one end. I'm going to replace the cables with smaller ones and possibly add a few turnbuckles also. planning to make some more kevlar widebody parts also so cant wait for that.

2012

I moved in with my parents in Virginia to spend time with my mother who was battling stage four cancer for 20 months. I got to spent 3 great months with her before she passed March 26 2012. Since this was much earlier then we had planned Ive had alot of free time before i start school again. I'm currently about 30 days into my project and thought i would update NASIOC on my progress if there is enough interest i will document it and share but its really not my priority

My old car looked very similar to this without all the money you've spent of course. Wish I'd never got rid of my 06. Love the car good luck with getting her up and running.

Story of my life. I Went through 3 trans rebuilds 3 Clutches and now 2nd major motor work done. All between 2009-2011.

An STi would have been a smarter choice for the amount of monies ive spent. and im sure for you as well.

Nice dedication though.
