Considering that this is PaulH's 2nd or 3dr autocross ever, he didn't bad at all.

FTD= 47 secs.
Average = 52 secs.
PaulH = 54 secs

About the middle of the pack with lots of room for improvement.

It was a good day! The silver RS (luca) beat 2 S4 and 1 A4 1.8T! but the second fastest time was done by a blue civic...followed by a white civic hatch...

All I can say is, driving skill counts!

That was Sweet, thanks for sharing. I wonder if the VDC was on or off? We just got one the other week. We have a Rally-X locally but we only have 600 miles on our VDC so I have to wait till I get it broken in.

The outback is a 2001, no shutoff switch, it was on all the time.

If you are going to rally or autox the VDC I strongly recommend that you install sway bars. As you are probably already aware the VDC has a stock 22mm front sway bar, a very small rear sway bar and has a lot of understeer dialed in. The stock setup and my inexperience really abused my tires on my second autox. My first autox was in the pouring rain. Stock setup will see the VDC kick in and really slow you down before it releases the brakes. With front and rear whiteline sway bars set at 22mm the car has a very neutral balance. At 24mm on the rear the car very nice to play with. Presently I keep the bar at 22mm.

Paul is too modest. He's actually picked up quite a bit since his first autocross. He's slowly making the transition towards the "Slow in Fast Out" technicque from the "Fast in Understeer like crazy followed by unmentionable profanaties" method.

He found out that the "Slow in Fast Out" works better.

LOL
