I've heard of people leaving the motor in the car while doing HG job. I don't recommend that way since you have limited room to work and all that. Besides the job goes quickly once the engine is out and on a stand you could do HG in a days time.

well this is worse case scenario. timing belt, radiator, and water pump/tstat are getting done this weekend. Oil change next weekend. thats when the best time to tell if its gone or not is when all this is done.

there is no peanut butter on the dip stick, or on the oil cap. but the coolant is burnt, and foamy....I describe it as like rootbeer float. there was a crack in the top of the radiator that we actually found on Tuesday. it burns occasionally out the tail pipe... but its only done it once or twice in the past week.

I had an extra harness and thought I was doing the jdm mod but apparently not lol I like this though. 2 top lights are blinkers, inside bottom is the parking and brake light and the outside lower is the reverse lights. I just need to get some red bulbs for the parking/brake lights.

What are yalls opinions?

We just did while the engine was still inside. It's a pain in the ass.

Yeah this is what I've heard, I've never done it that way before. I always choose to pull the motor for head gaskets and other service that needs more room to work on the motor.

It was more like a bet. Mechanic said he gets it done even with head stuts. And then he suffered

New timing belt, water pump and thermostat are in! just gotta finish up putting everything back together tomorrow, with the new 3-core radiator! Then to find out if I indeed need to change my headgasket :/

and what else do you suggest I do while I have the motor pulled? spark plugs for sure... but what else?

If your oil looked like this

Head Gasket is bad. There are a whole bunch of seals on the motor that may need replacing. I can't remember all the seals off the top of my head though.

You should get that head gasket done while the motors out.

There's a place off the B270 near Vogelweh that's good but I can't remember the name. They're pricey but one of the best shops in the area. I'll ask at work, one of the mechanics is friends with a guy that does paint there.

Do you still need assistance this weekend or not? I have a feeling my car will be back up and running so I won't have to depend on someone to take me to and from places anymore.
