Question 2002 RS questions

Is the suspension in the 02RS the same as the WRX? In other words, is like the 98-01 suspension? A sport suspension. The dealer told me the WRX has a suspension upgrade for $1800, is this the P1? I am thinking of trading in my 99 for a 02.

I THINK the suspensions are slightly different. The WRX has the stiffer of the two, while the RS is the same as the current model RS. Again, I'm not sure.

I've been trying to figure this out. I need to get a WRX owner to let me crawl under their car and compare I do know (or at least I've been told) that the WRX comes with upgraded 20mm sway bars while the RS definitely still has 13mm stock. If you get any additional information, please let me know. At this point, I'm considering writing to SOA and asking them what the differences are.

is that the only difference? if so, i might jsut get a 02RS. and get the SOA 20mm sway. other than that the spring rates, struts and so on... are the same?

Like I said, I don't know, but I intend to find out. If the springs/struts are stiffer, it would be a great upgrade to just snag a used WRX suspension from someone who's upgrading

I keep on hearing that the springs/struts are stiffer, but that's coming from people who don't even know they make a 2002RS.

I drove a RS and WRX back to back. The wrx felt better through the corners (bigger rear swaybar), but other than that the suspension felt the same.

Dont forget the rear limited-slip-diferential that the RS doesnt have!

That optional suspension is the STi upgrade, and its only $1300 or so on www.subaruparts.com
