Thumbs up Welcome Me to your World!

Hey All!
New here. Just traded in my 2 cars, a 2000 Honda Prelude and a 2000 Suzuki Vitara for a....
2002 Impreza WRX Sport Wagon! (silver)
First impression is that it is a superior car in several aspects to my former Prelude (not to mention the Suzuki), comfortable, handles like a dream, looks good.
Not sure how much FASTER than the Prelude it is, the turbo is deceiving on how the speed creeps up on you, so used to that obvious VTEC crossover but I am sure I will get used to the power of boost.
Stock stereo is ****e and will be extracted post haste.
First mods, exciting! Window Tint and 3M CLear Bra for the front hood.
Secondly, boost gauge/controller...no idea where to start here but I hear thats a good choice.
Hope to learn a lot from this community and meet up with some of you (hey Dave!).
Thanks...

Haha, welcome to the dark side man. Look to Jay, Phast, for inspiration on what a silver wagon can do up here.

Don't forget Pace. He has a very fast sleeper silver wagon as well.

mesocyc,

Welcome to the club! Have fun with your new toy. Wait till it snows, then you'll really know how much better these cars are!

Welcome! We'll be having another meet maybe in September or October, if we go by the same schedule as last year. Unless anyone else wants to plan the meet, I'm thinking it might be at Red Rocks again unless their schedule is too busy. Hope to see you around.

Hey Justin-

Thanks for calling me to go to the dealership with ya . Glad to hear you are enjoying your wagon. Did they not have white or what? Not saying silver is bad just curious... that's all.

As far as your first mods go yes boost controller AND boost gauge are good things. Or you could just go with a boost controller like mine that has peak/hold boost pressure (keeps track of your highest boost so you can keep an eye on the road [heh]) and a boost gauge built into it.

Well good luck and hope to see you around here. I mostly frequent the Factory forced induction and I used to goto the suspension forum (but that's all taken care of now [heh]). STill working on the power though .

We'll have directions once the meet gets closer. Red Rocks is off of I-70 (west out of denver) close to Morrison (the town). Stay tuned.

Thanks all for the warm welcome!
Good news...I made so much on my exhaust system on eBAY (from the old Prelude) to be able to buy a turbo timer too! Woo hoo I am just a mod-a-holic. Seems that people really think teh turbo timer is a good investment, however if there are any ones in particular I should stay away from that would be great to know. Leaning towards the Blitz DATT.
Thanks again...

The only problem I have ever heard people have with them is they are unable to set their alarm with the turbo timer running the car = you have to wait for the turbo timer to finish and your car to shut off anyway before you can set the alarm. Maybe someone has figured out a way around this though?

You can set the alarm....you just have to cut a wire or two....there are complete installation instruction on i-club somewhere....just do a search! (you'll be reading that a lot! )
