I was just wondering if there are any amateur events ex: rally, tarmac time attacks, etc... around chicago? And what would i need to do to my car, if anything, to prep it for one?

Go to a Track Day with the ; BMW Club, Porsche Club, Audi Club, F-Body club, LAPS All these clubs rent tracks out by the day and will provide you with an instructor. You will need an Instructor in the car to explain to you how to drive fast. It is not what you think and you will learn something. You will need an Snell 2005 helmet, NOT a motorcycle helmet, and a car in good working order, and fresh brake fluid.($15.00 if you know how to do it yourself)
