Traded my '06 Forester in on an '04 WRX and was very pleased. The only regret was people wanting to race my all the time in the WRX, so I sold it.

Option B: Ignore people trying to race you and enjoy the car you want to enjoy?

People like you are so perplexing. Like the guy next to you pulled a gun on you and was like 'RACE ME OR DIE HOLMES!!!'

Honda kids will always magically find thier rev-limited when they see a WRX/STi. Just ignore them unless thier girlfriend is in the car, then embarrass them

To the OP, depends how deep you are into your own build.

Traded in a 2001 2.5RS with 31k miles for a 2000 Audi S4 with 24k miles. The Audi turned out to be the worst car I ever owned, in the shop for a full 50% of the time I owned it.

Buying a used car means buying someone else's problems.

Unpossible! Everybody in anything threw revs at that car. I could have been in a funeral procession and the hearse driver would have wanted to race it. It wasn't just annoying, it was a major distraction to simply driving.

I got so sick of it that I ended up putting the car in the garage and drove my '87 Jeep Comanche instead. Yes, it was that bad.

It finally dawned on my that if I wasn't going to drive the car because I didn't enjoy it, and that I actually HATED driving it because of other morans, I might as well sell it, so I did.

Why not? As long as you enjoy it(which I personally like the 07 style better also) and get a good deal while your at it, then go for it.

I traded a '11 MS3 and my '06 R1 for a '10 STI. Best trade in my life.

Do it! I also love the '06-'07 body style. If WRX's went to school, the '08 would definitely ride the short bus.

I traded my '09 WRX 5-door for an '05 OBXT.

Sold my 2010 Challenger with 40k for my now 08 Rex with 64k at the time.
Had the Challenger because my evidence before it comitted suicide. Got the Challenger for steal to get around till I found a suitable suby. Challenger was a comfortable ride, stupid big, and painfully slow. Not my style of car either way. Can't tell you How happy I am to be back

Sounds like someone is an old man who sold his car the first time someone revved at him (while he was driving a sports car)

Idiot.

I drive a Scoob in the country where I am one of like 2 in the area. Everyone here drives trucks and ****. If I got pissed off every time I had a diesel do some stupid **** beside me I'd stay pissed off.

I just can't understand selling a car because people want to race you. Just don't race and go on your way. It's not like they're going to race a car that's not racing back.

If it had only happened a few thousand times I would have put up with it, but it happened at least a half a billion times. But really, it was a total distraction to simply wanting to drive a car.

There wasn't anything I could do to stop people from flashing at me, honking, revving et al, so I sold the car. Is it stupid to capitulate because of other idiotic drivers? Maybe, but I'm happy I can now drive without any challenges to race.

Maybe a Forester XT would be ubiquitous enough to not be harassed all the time, yet still offer a reasonably fun driving experience.

I sold my 04 WRX wagon with upgraded turbo and supporting modifications because we needed some funds in the bank to help out family. Loved that car and all of the modifications I made to it.

Everything worked out and I felt comfortable buying another WRX. One thing occurred to me, though... If I was buying a WRX with the intention of modifying it and tearing deep into the mechanicals, I may as well just buy an older, higher mileage one and use the money I saved upfront to, well, modify more heavily. I ended up finding a very nice, but higher mileage 02 wagon that had some suspension work already done for substantially less than I sold my 04 for.

Sometimes that turns out to be a nightmare, but it worked out fine for me, I guess. Now I just sold my other wagon, but it was only because I decided I'm ready to try something else. No regrets about going back a little bit year-wise, and I've always had a soft spot for bug eyes anyway. I'm glad I got to own one.

Sold my 06 2.5i wagon for my 04 WRX. Only thing I miss is how the 2.5i required less attention. But I guess any turbo car will require more upkeep.
I have no regrets though, and personally, I would rather have an 07 over an 08 as well.

This.

Hahaha owning nothing but used cars all my life, definitely this one. And you shoulda kept RS.

Being the slightly, half old soul I am, I've always liked the idea of older cars with classic styling given the modern technology and performance treatment.

For example: gc/gm Impreza RS's with ej255 or ej257's and a 6 speed. Or first and second generation Camaro's with LS motors and T56's.
