Smile Mini install day for me

I had the windows in the new OB done yesterday. 35% Transmittance in the front side and very rear w/ 25% for the rear and cargo area. From the outside it all looks the same but you can see out better w/ the 35% in the rear. I should have before and after pics up soon. Cost me 160 total and he did a very good job. I make it a point to put up the sunshade even if it's not that sunny (even in underground parking) just to make it impossible to see in the car.

When I got home I had a big box of goodies from Lisa Wilkins at Subaru on my doorstep.

I proceeded to install:

Front Bug Guard: The black guard looks good (hardly noticeable) on the black OB. Install for that already on Scoobymods site.

Rear Gate Bar: Outside bar that fits under the license plate. It makes closing/opening the gate easier. The bar is black and blends in well with the car like the bug guard. One thing to note, 2 / 10mm holes have to be drilled in the rear hatch. Not a hard install but I'm glad I double checked the template supplied. I had it exactly where they said to put it and it was off by 1/4"! Best to install while wife is not watching...

Alarm upgrade - This is the third upgrade I've installed on a Subaru and for the most part the hardest. Getting the motion sensor installed was very tricky. Also, there is a small disk horn to be installed in the motor bay. It goes by the A/C system but the 2002 (or it may be because of the VDC) is apparently not the same as the install directions. I had to improvise and put it in a close but different location. There is no siren but it uses the stock horns plus the supplied one. With the new FIAMM's I installed it's pretty loud. Still I would have preferred a Siren like my RS. One nice feature is the flashing LED light is already integrated into the dash. I'll do some sort of page on our site eventually.

Auto dimming compass mirror - Very simple install. Drop the map lights find the harness plug in, remove the existing mirror with a twist and tug and put the new one in place.

OEM Rubber floor mats - Only put the rears in for now because of the kids. I only mention these because I was very happy with the quality and fit. For the price these are petty good. MacNeil mats but these are every bit as good and a lot less money.

Rear Diff protector - very easy on the OB

Wheel Locks - Simple

Like I said I was busy

Better me than having the dealer do it I got the stuff for almost half what the list price would have been.

I was just surprised that some of the stuff didn't come already on the car with the VDC supposedly top of the line. The LLBean comes with the mirror and security system Std.
