I have the same car with subzero's. I got the Kumho 712's in 215/45 17. I don't like them much though. My next set is going to Falkin Azenis in 225/45.

01b4RSK - being that you're out on the E.Coast, the Yoko AVS Sports maybe more advantageous for you, as the Parada's aren't known to be that great in the wet.

I've got Firestone Firehawks SZ50 EP's on my 02 GT. They're awesome in dry or wet conditions. Treadware of 340 so they'll last quite awhile. Its a summer tire so it has absolutely no traction in the slightest bit of snow. They're on my 17" BBS RK's and sized 215/45-17. Very pretty tread pattern too.
I've posted pics of them in the members car gallery forum. Too lazy to link it here. So just do a search there. ![]() |

As already mentioned, you'll want to run either 215/45-17s or 225/45-17s. Those two sizes pretty evenly bracket the diameter of the stock 205/55-16s.
Fortunately for you, the Parada spec 2 doesn't come in either of those sizes, so you'll have to look at other, better tires. I second Hiroki's praise of the Firehawk SZ50EP. My last set of tires was a set of SZ50EPs - I got somewhere around 35,000 miles out of them. Feel free to ask around in the NESIC Forum, I don't baby my car, so that's pretty impressive mileage for an ultra high performance tire. Pretty much everything Hiroki said is true. To add a couple of other things I like about them, they're nice and quiet, they ride smooth for an UHP tire, and they have the rim protector on the sidewall (which seems to be more and more common in the performance market, but when I got mine a few years ago it wasn't). Tire Rack has those for $155 each right now in a 215/45-17.After I used up the SZ50s, I switched over to 17" wheels and decided to try something different. I'm now running the Toyo Proxes T1-S in 215/45-17 ($147 each, shipped to my door by www.aimtire.com ). I've used them on track for a few days, so they aren't going to last as long as the SZ50s, but I still expect to get easily over 20,000 miles out of them. I'll be honest, I'm not the best at comparing raw grip from one tire to the next, so I can't really say which tire is "better". As far as general performance I think the T1-S is very similar to the SZ50 - great grip wet or dry, a little bit more noise (but still nice and quiet), smooth ride, etc etc. The T1-S also happens to be a light tire, probably the lightest UHP tire in a given size, so that's cool. B4RSK, I've got Rota Subzeros on a '01 Legacy Wagon. I have lowered suspension and run a 225/45 R17. I have never once rubbed even with a full car going around nutty corners. You will have no problem with this tire. I was actually pondering running a 235/40 but We'll have to see about that. BTW, my tires are A032R's which have a pretty flat stiff sidewall, basically if these don't rub I would be extremely surprised if any other tire of the same size rubbed. Good luck with your choice!
