Subaru Stars Version 7 STI - Two Different Versions?

Hello,

Right now, I am currently in the process of putting together a Version 7 "clone" but I have a couple questions.

First off, looking at the picture below, it appears that there were two different versions of the V7 STI. I have the front end of the one on the left, however, I do have the wing of the one on the right.

My question is, whats the difference between the two? I see that the grill, foglight covers, and the rear spoilers are different, but is there anything else?

Thanks guys!

The one on the right is the Prodrive special edition and that bumper and grille are very desirable. I am very sure all the differences are cosmetic.

Ahh, interesting. Here is another photo of a prodrive via Google Images:

In my opinion, I think the straight STI looks just as good if not better. Is this a product Subaru and Prodrive worked together on as a factory option?

I think its odd how there are such minute differences in these JDM cars vs. USDM cars...I just don't get it. I wish they would offer the same option over here as they do in Japan (HID projectors, side skirts, STI in 02/03, etc).

Yes, one is a normal sti and the other is a Prodrive edition. I think the Prodrive one could have been ordered throu subaru. But aside from visual differences, there were also different things done to the car. I think the Prodrive came with a slight bump in power and better suspension. Someone else can shed more light on this.

I think its interesting that that year sti did not come with a sti spoiler, but it had the wrx spoiler. Hmmmm

BTW, I used to have those Prodrive fog covers, but I sold them. now they are on a car that my friend sold and the guy who bought the car does not even know what a rare part he has. I should offer hiim $50 for them

Its kind of weird how in the states these items are extremly rare

In England I swear 50% of them over here have the prodrive package on them....

Very interesting information here nonetheless.

I'm just glad I don't have a Euro WRX
