Default leather cleaner/conditioner question....

so I just started using a cleaner/conditioner for my 2011 wrx, it's the turtle wax cleaner/conditioner and I don't really like it.

it doesnt really leave a soft feel, some what clean but I'm expecting it to be softer and being a spray if over spray gets on another seat I already cleaned and if I don't wipe it right away it will leave marks until I respray it.

not looking for any thing super fancy, something I can pick up from auto zone, advanced auto, orielly etc.....

also do I go with a spray, paste, wax??? any help would be appreciated

I cant recommend anything over the counter for leather except maybe Duragloss leather cleaner and condition from car quest.

For wax, spray can be applied very quickly after each wash, paste and liquid will give significantly more substantial protection. Are you looking for everything OTC? There are considerably better options if you order from a vendor depending on the stores you have locally....

By reading your profile I noticed your location - what state is that in?

I bought the meguiars leather conditioner and it does the exact same thing. Spots all over and need to be VERY careful when applying. Plus, now my seats feel "slippy". Dont think I'll buy this stuff again.

NOTE: I do use all other Meguiars products and am very pleased. This leather stuff just didn't float my boat.

I use Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner. The cleaner comes in an orange bottle and the conditioner comes in a brown bottle. It's a little more on the expensive side (think around $7-8 per bottle) but picked it up from AutoZone. We use it at work (I'm a Bentley/Ferrari/Maserati Tech) and it comes out great. Haven't used it on the WRX though. Mine doesn't have leather.

At work for leather office chairs we use a product called Mr. Leather. It's a nice product, wipes on, cleans and leaves a clean, low luster sheen, I use it on on my car dash and vinyl trim and on chairs at home. Works better then Lexol!
