So I have been looking around for helpful hints and suggestions on how different people race, and could not find anything. I think it would be beneficial if we all shared our own personal experiences on racing.

Like what rpm's you launch at, what weather is best for your car on race day, shifting.. etc.

If there are any links out there already, please feel free to share them. Also, post your times and what's been done to your car so we can validate what's being said.

FYI, there is a timeslip thread in "Proven Power Bragging" forum's stickies. Not much drag racing in this forum.

Yeah this forum is mostly road race talk, with an auto-x sub-forum. The proven power forum does talk a bit more about drag racing.

I personally don't launch my car other than standing starts - which isn't very aggressive ;P

A performance driving school is your best answer.

My bad. When I started this I thought it would be a good idea. Just trying to get people to talk about street and track racing

Sorry you got all the dumb answers - that's NASIOC, unfortunately.

Anything related to street racing is likely to get you into trouble due to the fact that street racing really is a bad idea. Track racing is cool but, as I mentioned, this forum sticks to things like circuit racing, rally, autox etc - pretty much no drag racing, no drifting. The "Motorsports" title catches people out.
