Default Installing a woofer.

I want to get infinity basslink from ebay and have someone install it for me. Does anyone know around how much does the installation usually cost? Also, what car audio shop do you recommend?

joke #1: woofer? dont even know her...

joke #2: first i thought, why do you want to install a DOG in your car...

anyhoo, how comfortable are with taking panels off your interior?

wiring? getting dirty?

if no to any of the above, call a local shop near you. some of the bigger chains like best buy or circuit city may not install a thing not bought from them.

smaller local shops will... since you didnt say where are, kinda hard to recommend a shop...

i only saw the basslink close up once so i'm going by memory.

the BL uses speaker level inputs as well as line level (RCA jacks), so you just need to tap from a speaker source.

if you have an aftermarket head unit, use the line level inputs...

then just wire up the power source. since this comes with its own amp, you need to get a big ass power cable to it, say like 10 gauge, i'd go for a 8 gauge.

your problem will be running the cable from the batt to where the BL will, i assume in the rear trunk or compartment... go to a local store like BB or CC and buy their amp install kit that has all the power cables (and RCA ones too) to wire it up...

dont forget to FUSED the power cable close to the battery...

Hey what's up! The right thing to do is too use the rca inputs. If your useing a stock deck buy a line out converter aka 'hi lo converter" wire it up to the back of your deck to the rear speaker leads strip back insulation and solder the wires. next tag the acc. wire behind the deck for your remote turn on and run back with your power wire. Now power wire should be an 8 gauge wire, better sound less heat build up on heat sink. On wrx there is a gromet on driver side. Punch out rubber grommet and cut small hole run wire through it and replace DONT FORGET TO FUSE IT

PS I'm the senior instller at best buy f.f. and yes we do install stuff not purchased at B.B. good luck

Buy a wireing kit like monster cabel good quality wire

WOOHOO, audio question!!! hehhe This is like my neck of the woods like cameras to Jansen hahaha...

Ok, first off, it seems like you don't know how to install this thing. Most shops will install a baselink like a 2ch amp and it'll cost you about 70 bucks labor. If you bring all your lil connector kits, you'll save about 30 bucks or so. Just by yourself a 2ch amp kit IMO. Since the basslink is 200 watts, just get a 200 watt kit.

If you want to install it yourself, it isn't rocket science either. You just gotta know how to get a power cable through the firewall. If you can do that, then you're golden. The baselink that my friend got didn't allow Line Level inputs, so you'll either have to have RCA or you have to buy a converter. Relativly cheap about 10 bucks or so. It's pretty much plug n play since you only need...

1) power cable
2) remote cable
3) ground cable
4) RCA cables to feed the signal

if you can comfortably run those 4 things from point A (origin) to point B (where the basslink is) then you're better off doing the install yourself.

If you look up this "Basslink" in the audio fourms, you'll find a million posts on them and some pictures too. IMO, they take up a lot of good space in trunks and are pretty permenate.

Good luck... everyone should get some boom!!!
