Default WRX09: AP log, please review

Greetings everyone,

I was going to post this on COBB forum but the site is down and I figured it will have more exposure here. WRX 09 Stage 1 + SF.

Please review my logs, 1st one is a 3rd gear pull, second is 2nd and 3rd. They look ok to me but I am no expert. There's some fine knock learning at lower rpm but I'm assuming this does happen at times. I also noticed that I don't have the AF ratio, just the other default one chosen by COBB. Hopefully my log is still useful without the actual AFR. AFRs look ok when I monitor them in the car: steady 11.1 under load.thanks!

Logs look good. You are not overboosting and knock situation is fine. There's some learned correction ("fine") at lower load, but that is nothing to be concerned about in this case (low load, single event).

Thank you for reviewing my log. I do enjoy my stage 1 + SF a lot. So how de we know the fine correction was a "single event"? Should I do more logs?

Well, the "worst" correction in the logs is -1.05. The decrement for the fine knock learning is generally 1.4 and the increment is .35. So, when you see -1.05, it was a single knock event (-1.4) with a subsequent (at some point) positive correction (-1.05). For fine knock learning, you want to look for repeatable multiple corrections for a given cell (the fine knock learning table is made up of distinct load/RPM cells). For example, for this car, -4.2 would indicate 3 knock corrections were learned in that cell.

In your logs, you have correction in more than one cell, but, as stated above, the "worst" correction is based on a single knock event.

OP, just fyi when i was running the COBB OTS stage 1 map I had slight knock learn just like your logs show with no adverse effects. The Stage 2 OTS map had similar knock learn.

Once I got protuned with the AP all knock is now completely gone.

However, until reading your logs I was unaware of two things:

1) At stage 1 your boost levels are what mine are at stage 2.
2) According to those logs you have a 7k RPM redline. Lucky bastard!

Thanks for the input, I actually dont care that much about the redline, I rarely shift above 6k. But I do agree that 16 psi is a nice feeling. :-)

I'm bumping this up, I did two more logs in colder temperature, I see a small knock under load- should I be concerned?

3rd gear pulls, around 45F temperature, logged this week. Seems to be running okay- besides the small occasional fine knock correction.

Thanks!

Its fine knock learn and has decremented down in the second log so it probably pulled some timing at one point, its not hearing knock, so its adding the timing back in again. I would not be concerned.
