Default Need help with parts for screen mod

Hey all,
I don't want to spend $70 for someone to send me $10 in materials for grill screens on the WRX.

I've done the scoop screen and now I'm looking into the others.

I have an idea on creating a grill screen for the WRX OEM grill. I need to find out what type of a rubber edging I can use to go around the mesh. I'm thinking of making a grill screen that has an opening for the grill badge. But, I don't know what I can put around the edges of the screen to make it look clean and not scratch the paint.

I will also be using this technique for the bottom screen as well.

I've seen kits from companies that have a rubber edging around the mesh. Anyone know what that is or where to get it??? How does it look when it is bent around corners???

Thanx in advance for any suggestions.

You could try black silicone or using a very fine moulding strip.

Would the moulding strip bend properly around the corners??? I want to make a screen that will mold around the top part of the bottom radiator area. I've seen screens that fit behind and would prefer to have the screen more visible.

The moulding stip needs to be "creatively cut" to get it to bend properly. Look for threads on modifying the orange bumper vents. I know several guys have used moulding around the opening.

Hope this helps.
