You're the dude from Toledotuners aren't you? I remember your VDub from a few years ago and seeing it around BG all the time. I wondered what happened to you.

looks good. regardless of all the negative critique you're getting, do what you feel suits you best. if i were to give an opinion on the over-all look of the car, i'd say no to the staggered wheels, that's about it though.

Not liking the idea of bags or overly stretched tires.

imo, I think bags would be over doing it on a subi. I come from the mini truck world and, similar to dub culture, everything is all about huge wheels and low stance.

On a subi I think the body style pretty much decides what kind of wheels you should go with. To me, lipped wheels only look good on 08+ models... where as I think wheels like work xt-7 an cai's are prime for earlier generations.

plus, you gotta think about your suspension and drivetrain. Your awd set up can only handle so much. Even if you wanted to go that low with wheels that big you'd have to upgrade alot of other componets of your suspension and drivetrain. One thing I like about dubs (and this is especially true wiht older gen's) is that you can slam them with minimal modification and they'll continue to run great, forever. I suggest rimtuck.com, they''ve got a subi of that gen up there that looks really good lowered, but it's more of a visual effect.

One thing I've noticed about subi's is you can have ugly ass wheels, but if you stance it right, It'll look clean as hell. When it comes to suspension, it's really all about the visual effect. An inch lower drop on 17's will make you look slammed and a mediocre drop on 18's will give the same illusion. Plus, if you add a low profile lip it'll add to it...

Alot of subi enthusiests are all about the performance though so anytime you say much about slammin one you'll catch alot of flack.

P.S. that jti is lookin clean, you've clearly put in some work on it.

Default Go for it!

Its your car, do whatever you want to it. Just because its a Subie doesnt mean it has to be modded like every other Subie! Variety is the spice of life. We should all strive to be more original...I say go for it! I like the color combo and the black mirrors.
