Default Spy Photos: 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo

http://blogs.insideline.com/straight...ter-turbo.html
Quote:
These are the first Spy Shots we have of the 208 horsepower, turbocharged 1.6-L 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo that we've known was coming since the Detroit Auto Show.
This Turbo Veloster is riding on the same 18-inch wheels which are going to be optional on the base Veloster and which were present on the test vehicle we rode in. The base Veloster, however, has all-season tires while this one will have optional sticky summer rubber.
Differences here include a new front fascia, new grille, round fog lights and chin spoilers on the corners of the bumper. We can also see more carved side skirts and, most obviously, the huge center-mount round (the standard has rectangular) exhaust tips. There also appears to be a roof mounted spoiler pushing up on the camo.
We expect the debut of the Hyundai Veloster Turbo at either the LA or Detroit show.

There appear to be some fairly meaty brakes behind those 18's.

The front end and roof line resemble a CRZ.

Wow, Hyundai makes one of the weirdest looking car in memory, and still gets the "it looks like a Honda" treatment. Clearly, not weird enough.

THe CRZ on its best day,
wishes it had a day,
that that will be half as good as what the Velostar will have.

I bet my OEM up pipe that the Velostar outsells the CRZ 5 to 1

I do not think it resembles CRZ at all.

This car will be fun car to drive at around 2600 lbs if equipped with LSD. Imagine what a tune and free flowing exhaust will do to this car.

My analyzer shows car will run high 13s at around 100mph trap.

Where have I seen those front wheel arches before...hmmm...where? The car I'm thinking of is still criticized for it. Hyundai has a Jedi heading their design team.

She needs to shut her whore mouth.

Do want the Veloster. Hyundai has been on a roll lately.

I thought this was supposed to be a small car.

Unless those are 15-16" wheels, this is not a small car.

It has to hide just how tall the sides of new cars are. It also means you spend a lot more for tires.

<-- just ordered some new 16s for the wagon.

Same wheelbase as a Mazda 3 hatch, 1" wider, but it's 11" shorter. The large wheel arches swallow up wheels and make them look smaller than they really are.

Make it a twoseater and get rid of that sloping beltline. Looks like this thing just got its face pulled back with cosmetic surgery. Backseats are worse than a 2004 Saturn Ion, and that's being generous. I hope the "slope" dies a horrible death...
