Default Newbie Clear bra question

Just got a new 2011 WRX Limited 5 door and wanted to get a clear bra installed. I'm new to the clear bra thing and have seen prices from 850 to 1500 for it to be installed. Anyone have an idea of what I should look to spend for my hood, quarters, Apillars, and lights? Any info is appreciated. If anyone knows a company that does the install in North Jersey please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Br

I've seen it as cheap as 500-600 but it's totally area dependent. IMO look in your regional forum and find a reputable shop.

grats, and good work being smart .. don't delay putting on the clear bra, you're going to get chipped up, and fast. this water based paint is soft as hell.

Was doing some research and came across this. Although it is Canadian I'm not sure how much prices differ from Can to the US hope it helps.

Where are you located? I paid just over $700 installed for mine. Bumper, straight cut hood and fenders, headlights, fog lights, and door cups.

dont cheat yourself on this...get a really good one or you will regret it and stare at it everytime you walk by the car. also never wax it because it will screw it up massively. my dad has the 3m clear bra on his 07 S4 and it is not very visible and is quite durable. good luck man.

Not true. You can wax, just don't use paste...use liquid spray wax.

I recommend www.cleardefender.com. Clear bra was $265 shipped and I went up with the Avery product and very satisfied. I got labor for my front end clear, roof wrap in black and black window trim for $430.00.

I've heard that its ok to wax but that its best to avoid waxing over the seams between the clearbra covered and uncovered parts

I'm thinking of going this route. I watched the installation videos and am actually considering installing it myself. Anyone here do it themself?

You can do the hood and fenders yourself. but the bumper requires a pro. You need to have a heat gun and tons of patience, as the front bumper will require a lot of pulling to fit the contours correctly.

absolutely, you can use like a quick detailer but stay away from any compound or paste wax etc. and DEFINTELY dont hit the seams...it will make them stand out.

Well I got it done today and the guy who did it was GREAT. It came out great. Great seams and he threw alot in for free. I got my hood with a 24 inch bikini cut, both qtr panels 18 inches back, the full front bumper, fog lights, headlights, apillars, all 4 handles, gas tank, back upper bumper by the lid for 870. I think thats a pretty good deal in north jersey. OM me if you want this guys info. He was easy to deal with.
