Speedvision carries all qualifying and races live with Sam Posey and David Hobbs doing the commentary. Fox Sports carries the races on a delayed basis with a different broadcast crew.

At this point Speedvision does not have the coverage rights. Currently it looks like a pay per view only situation but Speedvision is trying hard to re-acquire the rights to broadcast all F1 related stuff.

Sad news for all F1 fans, to say the least.

Sad, indeed. The last news that I had, according to Formula 1.com, was that it was up in the air between ABC, ESPN, and ABC(?!).

Matters were still up in the air as of the 22nd, as Melbourne draws ever closer. Bernie of course, wants everyone in the world to do F1 races via pay-per-view.

For instance, they have a lot more in-car views than we free folks get. Apparently, they're all reserved for PPV audience members. Go figure.

Something similar to this went on a few years ago, when right up until the weekend OF the race, the TV deal hadn't been ironed out. ESPN2 wound up with the rights.

We'll see, and I'm still optimistic. My feelings are assuaged somewhat by the fact that the WRC shows are an hour long this year.

I want to watch, but y'now what? SCREW F1! I'm getting tired of hearing about Schuey all the time - whether he wins or not, and the Ferrari-McLaren Coin-toss that decides the outcome of every race. Grooved tires, and all that BAh. If I have to pay for F1 this year, I'll put that money into rally videos.
