Default Zex Nitrous and Resetting the Zex Computer

I am having the problem of having to constantly reset the Zex computer. Using the nitrous would be fine after using it but then it will not work. I am finding that I have to push in the reset button on the computer, wait for the red light, (with the car off) open the throttle all the way, turn the car on, turn the car off, turn back on, green light comes on, turn back off, then test opening the throttle to hear the click that the nitrous is working. *whew*

Is anyone else here having a similar problem? What could be causing the computer to work fine then not work and have to be resetted? Thanks

No, it's not under warranty. I purchased it off of someone (not directly) for about $350. It seemed like a steal. I don't want to assume the box is defective though but it very well may be. I'll hold up with that assumption until I get some more responses. Thanks for your help though.

Kevin...Oh wizard of nitrous
I'm going to have to agree, The box is probably defective I just hooked mine up last week and reset it a few times because i was still working out the bugs, but i never had any probs like you describe. It retains its memory after every shot.
What type of Nitrous system did you use on you OBS.?

I am using a NOS nitrous kit, #5122 on the Outback Sport. Never had any problems with that kit but there aren't any 'computer box/brains' hooked up to it either. A defective brain eh? *sigh* Now my car is retarded. Thanks!

you think Zex might send you a new one if you call them and swap em out. If it works and its free it can't hurt to try it. Or you could always go the evil route and buy the kit again from a store swap Zex brains the return it......not that i would advicate that but hey it might work.
