Ha, I was just going to post the same thing. I'd like to know how he "shaved" 30 seconds of the top time ... that's insane

It's not quite that simple. Yes, there is more pavement but come on, a full 30 seconds! I think it went from being 20% gravel to 13% gravel now, that's about a half mile less gravel.
Suspension, Turbos and differentials have come a long way in 10 years. Higgins also had a 40mm turbo restrictor which Sprongl did not.
It's an accomplishment regardless.

ok, so now Subaru has made two quick rally/road related records in short time...are they planning something or trying to make a statement or just circumstance?

I'm guessing circumstance.

Some pics of the Subie I took before the start... Subaru owned the day... other than a 69 year old man setting the highest speed at the speed trap of 114 mph... I think Higgins was 99 mph in the same speed trap, both runs...

Wow...so now we need a Mt Washington Limited, a Nurburg ring special, and an Ilse of Man Spec B!!

Subaru is really exploiting the performance capabilities of the STI with the recent record breaking runs. Thumbs up Subaru!

Haha I was there out of chance while vacationing. It was almost over when we got there and passes were $30 so we checked out some of the cars and left
