Default Miata engine bay....dayum

I just picked up a 2002 miata...and by the looks of it the engine bay was never cleaned.

I decided that today was a good time to get the engine bay matching the body. I'll get the interior tomorrow. I had the following things to clean with

-water bottle with 30:70 mix of Simple Green and water (70 is the water ratio)
-old crappy tooth brush (which was awesome for both teeth and car parts)
-bottle filled with water
-2 rags

here it goes:

The start

My friends left me note while I went in to grab stuff...douche

I like where this is going

I can't stress it enough...DEW ET!!!

Just make sure you have enough time, ymmv. I obviously had 10 years of "stuff" to get off. It took about 4 hours divided between 2 days.

Ideally I would lay down the mixture in sections, let it sit for a minute, follow up with regular water and then scrub the hell out if it with the brush. Use a rag to pick up what runs off.

Make sure the engine isn't scolding hot too. Warm to the touch is fine. I'm really glad you enjoy it.

The GLADD organization would not apprciate this 'slur' against their group!!! Tell your friends they need to make a public apology

Nice job on the car man, night and day difference!!! How do you like the handling so far? Those are supposed to be one of the overall best balanced cars.

HAHA i know man. All in good fun, they bust my balls about the car for fun. Its not the most masculine yet.

Handling...its...its the way God had intended, so balanced, so neutral and so grippy.

I've got to say, I don't miss the scoob as much as I thought I would. I now understand the difference between a sports car and a performance sedan.
