Question what to do

hhhuuuummmm,

I currently have ver 5, w/ eibach's, Mostly it's bouncy, i'm fine when i drive along, dosen't bother me really. But when i have a passenger they have the bobble head thing goin (haha) it's even worse in the back. Plus a smoother ride will be nice, and I don't think I could go anything less than what I have now, would miss it to much.

Alright i've read every post about ver 5 struts, agx's, and springs.

I've ruled out the agx's cause I want the lowered ride and there not technically made for a legacy, but they work and i have great struts already. So where i'm stuck is do i need different springs, and or new strut top mounts or something else..... oh whats the dif between h&r and Eibach, cause i read good things about the h&r w/ ver5 struts. Can I better my ride is the question?????

and here is a pic for the hell of it.

I'm hesitent to suggest anything, as I do not have any direct experience with this setup. But from what I've read and considered, I would say you're correct in hooking up some STI (or other) topmounts, and/or a different set of springs w/ diff. rates? The GC Ver5 setup that was up for sale a week or two ago looked real good... especially if you got real specific on what rates you wanted with 8, 9, or 10" springs.

Good luck... I'm interested in hearing more about this too. I really want to get a stiffer setup, but don't want to bounce, or loose too much ground clearance for winter/mtn driving. Considering AGX w/ stock springs.

why are you discounting the AGX's right off the bat?

Unless you have lowered the car more the 1.5" they should work.....assuming they do make an application for your car.

They are a good strut.

Another thing.....the Eibach's have a very harsh ride! I would look into some other springs, H&R, whiteline, MRT, or even sti.

The bouncy is caused by not having enough damping to control the high spring rates of the eibach's.

I'm not sure what would have a higher damping ratio then the V5 struts?

You could try sti top mounts first to see if they help. I have heard of them helping a little.

Thumbs up

legacy777 my car is lowered probably 1.25 +-, and i was thinking of the H&R springs, correct me if i'm wrong but they lower the car a bit more than the Eibach's, so the thats why i'm staying with the ver 5's, just need to figure out what springs and possibly top mounts to go with. I heard the best about the H&R's so far.

Thanks,

Dylan

dylan,

Not sure about the lowering height with the H&R's. But yeah....if they lower more....prob best to stay with what you got.

good luck with whatever you choose.
