Post Who has gotten their SCCA licenses yet?

Does anyone know the requirements for taking the basic test? And how/where can I start practicing for it?

Do you mean the competition license for road racing? I think you just need to take a couple of SCCA approved driving schools.... some of which require that you have your own race prepped car....

Go to www.SCCA.org
there is a section on obtaining a competition license.

Check out SCCA. Then contact your local region. Find out who is in charge of competition licensing. You will need to be a SCCA member to hold a license. You will need to successfully complete two schools. Although you may want to run more schools. It's the cheapest track time you'll find.
Your best bet is to rent a car for your schools. If you're still hot to race then build or buy your car. This will give you time to research the cars & classes so you can decide which class you want to compete in.

Good luck
Chuck
