This knob is excellent! I have the powder coated red version for my STI. I have a Cobb short throw shifter set to be super notchy and the weight in the knob makes the shifts so smooth, and the size is perfect!

Speaking from experience as a repeat customer, I think TWM makes a great shift knob. With that being said, their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Earlier this year, I bought an A6 knob for an M3 I owned. It took almost 3 months to get the knob while they were being manufactured, and over the course of that time I ended up selling the car. I tried to swap out the unused knob for the M1 that would fit my STi with the reverse lockout and for a knob that I spent $150+ on, they refused to let me swap it out. They "graciously" offered me 10% off of the purchase of another $150 knob if I returned the previously unused knob to them. I'll take my business elsewhere from now on.

it does not come with the collar to hold up the shift boot. But it does come with a nut to help tighten down the shift knob and to hold up the boot.

The whole point of it is to have the shifter closer to the wheel so it takes less time/reach to shift. I don't think anyone does it to look "gangsta", but I'm sure most that do it also have no need to do it.

I just switched from the Kartboy Knuckleball to bestthaticoulddo's shift knob, And it's pretty awesome. I loved the grip of the Knuckleball but it was just too light and made the shifts too notchy with the Kartboy sts.

My knob: Custom black copolymer sphere from WC Lathe Werks (get the brass insert, the added weight is beautiful). Got it about 8 months ago. Couldn't use WRX logo due to copyright, but I found a font that was a close match: Sansation Bold Italic

Like...on TP ? 2 or 3 ply?

Joking aside, a weighted shift knob is where it's at. It really making shifting way smoother.

Nothing special. Weighs about 470 grams (courtesy of a friend). Don't mind the tourniquet; miss-shifted a few times due to slight slipperiness.
