Default Base map issues

So i have a base map on my 02 wrx with a fp 16g dw650's with other supporting mods like TBE CAI and a FMIC. My issues are I can only hit boost of about 8psi in 4th and 5th gear and in the other gears my boost needle flutters all over the place. Also in 4th and 5th the needle starts to flutter from 7-12 psi. I also cant get the car to go above 4500 rpm is this all from my base map? i check everything else there aren't any vacuum leaks and everything is hooked up properly. I dont want to go get tuned and find out I have a big problem. Any help would be awesome!! I will also load up some data logs i took the other day once i figure out how to load them to the forum.

Hi there.

Do you have an AccessPORT? If so, is it version 1 (black & white LCD) or version 2 (color LCD)?

Where did this base map come from? Who created it?

You can use google docs to upload your logs. Make sure you set it up so that anyone can view it.

Yea AccessPort version 2 and the base map came from EFI Logics. I don't have my AP right now so I will load it all up when I get home.

I think this is how to load it. I tried to decipher what I was looking at and understood some but some I just couldn't figure out

The log has no wide open throttle (WOT) run and looks like mostly random driving. However, there is definitely an issue with your fuel trims which could be any number of things.

Try to do a WOT run in 3rd from 2000-3000 RPM to near redline if you can do so safely and if you feel comfortable doing so.

Was this map protuned for your car? Have you changed anything since the protune? Have you contacted the protuner?

Is this a limp map until you can get to the tuner?

I would say yes as he told me to not go WOT and this was basically on the car to get a few miles on it work out some kinks and get it to the tuner for the pro tune

What does your tuner expect from you while running this map? Do you two have an agreement of what kinks you're to work out? You're not tuned for your parts yet, so it's not going to run right, yet.

It sounds obvious to me that you have a tune on your car that is only made so you can get it to him, not so you can really drive on it, as Bill is possibly pointing out.

You may be expected to search for vacuum leaks, burp the radiator, check for DTC codes, etc... but that hasn't been stated yet.

Called the tuner today and all my worries were crushed. He said the map he sent me was meant to be taken easy on and just to make sure I can build boost which I understood the other issues I had were form the car running on waste gate pressure. I have my tune first thing monday morning can't WAIT!!!

oh and the kinks he wanted me to work out were because I rebuilt the motor completely and put in a bigger turbo so he wanted me to "break" it in
